We still stand by our initial thoughts that A Plague Tale: Innocence is one of the most underrated games of the last few years. If you’ve not yet played it, do so immediately, mostly as it will put you in good stead for the upcoming release of A Plague Tale: Requiem – a game which has today received a fully confirmed release date, new gameplay trailer, Collector’s Edition and Day One Game Pass goodness.

So, come October 18th 2022, Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC players will be able to get themselves involved in A Plague Tale: Requiem, with Game Pass subscribers jumping in on Day One, both of the Xbox and PC variety. Arriving as the sequel to the critically acclaimed A Plague Tale: Innocence by Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment, it’s a game that is hotly anticipated in many parts. When you include the fact that a new Extended Gameplay trailer has now been revealed during the Focus Showcase, complete with an official release date announcement and pre-orders, things get even more exciting.

You can check out the new gameplay trailer below these words. In a new extended gameplay sequence, follow Amicia and Hugo as they make their way through a massive ochre-red quarry overwhelmed with soldiers eager to capture them. Fortunately, the duo has many new tricks up their sleeve and doesn’t shy away from getting their hands dirty. Watch how it all plays out and get ready to embark on their heart-rending journey into a brutal, breathtaking world, and discover the cost of saving those you love in a desperate struggle for survival.

With this gameplay reveal, pre-orders have officially started on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S (the Xbox Store link is here) and PC, and a release date was announced for October 18th on all platforms. And further to that, players were also able to get a closer look at the Collector’s Edition in another short teaser.

Better still, two tracks of the game’s soundtrack, composed by Olivier Derivière and featuring the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir were also heard during the countdown leading to the showcase. Players can buy digitally the two tracks here, directly from the composer.

And finally, to round things off, PC players will be delighted to know that Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment are working with NVIDIA to add NVIDIA RTX features to A Plague Tale: Requiem including ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS. DLSS is NVIDIA’s critically-acclaimed AI-powered tech that boosts performance without compromising image quality.

A Plague Tale: Requiem will release October 18th 2022 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC and in Cloud Version on Nintendo Switch. The game will also be available Day One with Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC and Cloud.

Check out that trailer and hold tight for October.
