Over at TXH Towers, we blimin’ love Conan Exiles, and cannot wait to get back into the world of Conan the Barbarian once some new content rolls around. On top of the already expansive base game, we have already been treated to packs such as the Jewel of the West, and huge expansions like 2021’s Isle of Siptah. Now, it’s time to do it all over again. It’s time for the Age of War.
A New Conan Tale
Coming today as free content to players on Xbox, PlayStation and PC, as well as those who download the game through Xbox Game Pass, Age of War is the name of the new season for Conan Exiles; the vast online multiplayer survival game.
Players jumping into the game from today will be able to experience Chapter One of the Age of War storyline, which tells an epic tale of how an ancient empire has invaded the Exiled Lands, preferring to use hardened steel weaponry as opposed to sorcery.
This invasion will play out over the three sections of Age of War, gradually released over the coming weeks and months. For now, however, there is plenty of additional content that Age of War brings, each iterating upon the wealth of updates that the previous expansion – Age of Sorcery – ushered in.
Swathes of Improvements
Age of War – Chapter One is marking the start of a new era of Conan Exiles, with developers Funcom promising a set of quality of life improvements to the game, following today’s launch.
With the improvement and expansion of purges, updated enemy AI systems, and the addition of recruitable mercenaries to your party, the final PvE raid against the Stygian invasion will promise to be an absolute belter.
With these improvements, the solo side of Conan Exiles in particular has been boosted, with the game now offering a more immersive experience to those of us who like to play on our own.
Finally, Age of War – Chapter One introduces a new cosmetic system, in addition to the cosmetics offered through this Chapter’s battle pass. By collecting treasure from across the land, you can now display it in your very own vault. Additionally, you can create your own clan emblem, and proudly print it on your banners and shields.
