For the most die-hard of anime fans out there, the annual Anime Expo, held this year in LA from the 1st-5th July, is one of the biggest dates on the calendar. And when it comes to gaming, few do anime titles better than Idea Factory International. IFI have today announced a suite of new games for various consoles, including their first ever Xbox release. The game is question is Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters. Read on for more details!
Technology Battles
Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters is a colourful combat-focused JRPG that has already released earlier in 2023 onto PlayStation and Steam. It’s sitting pretty with hundreds of Very Positive reviews on Steam. Now it is slated for a release onto Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One sometime in 2024.Â
Neptunia sets us up in a fantasy world dominated by the hottest piece of technology on the market – the rPhone. It follows a set of Goddesses responding to a distress call from a distant continent, and from there all hell breaks loose, with the mysterious rPhone at the heart of it all. It’s a cautionary tale warning of the dangers of addictive technology, with more fantastical and whimsical narrative than you could shake a magic wand at.
Action-Packed Combat
Combat in this hot new JRPG is in the real-time flavour, with tons of abilities accessible from each of your 3-person party. You’ll be controlling one of this trio at any time, with the remaining duo being controlled by the computer.
One of the most appealing aspects of Neptunia’s gameplay is the ability to build your own combos to deploy in battle. The depth to this system is staggering, and will have you compelled to try out new combos for hours on end. However, you’ll have to account for the Action Points that are expended once a powerful combo is employed.
Whether it is the story or the gameplay, you can be sure that Neptunia is an incredibly complex game. However, stick with it, and you’ll be rewarded with a thrilling story and enthralling combat.
A 2024 Release for Neptunia: Sisters vs Sisters on Xbox
Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters is now available on PS5, PS4 and PC. Xbox gamers will have to wait until 2024 to get their hands on this title. You can find more details on the game’s official website. Make sure to return when we fully review the game next year.
A decent way to celebrate IFI’s 10th anniversary, no?
