The Apex All-Stars Series continues in Forza Horizon 5, and as sure as night follows day, Winter follows Autumn and we are into a whole new week of challenges.
You must know the score by now – we have challenges to meet, I’ll suggest the cars that I would use, and we all profit to the tune of some shiny new cars and a few points. Simples, no?
So, on with the Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 33 Winter and let’s get some racing done.
Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Driving at it’s Finest
This week’s challenge car is a Porsche, but not just any Porsche – the 911 GT2 RS no less, a proper widowmaker!
This is the 2018 model for the avoidance of doubt. 690 BHP fed to the rear wheels tends to make an impression I am lead to believe.
Should you not have one in your garage, then they are available in the Autoshow, at 315,000 credits. Or, complete the On the Run Seasonal Championship to get one for free. Doing that is probably your best bet.
Chapter 1 – Race Car at Heart
Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete.
Chapter 2 – Refined Racer
We now need to score 300mph in total across speed zones. I used the one on the highway as it is nice and straight. The car will do over 200 mph, so a couple of runs is all we need.
Chapter 3 – Weissach Performance
Who are you calling a Weissach?
All we need to do now is beat a ghost in the Rivals. Choose your best event! Drag is nice and short…
Chapter 4 – Mean Machine
Now we have to complete an Eventlab event in the car. See what you can find! I found a drag event for Track Toys on the first page of listings, and did this one.
Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 33.
Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts
So, with the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.
The Trial, the Eventlab making three triumphant comebacks, PR Stunts and only two Seasonal Championships. Less racing makes me sad…
The Trial – Clio Clash
Oh dear, let’s kick off as we mean to go on with the puns!
We need an B Class 700 nRenault Clio to take part, and I went with the Clio R.S. 200 EDC from 2013, share code : 262870774.
The prize for managing to find people who actually want to race The Trial like it should be done is a Bugatti EB110. Although if the crew you find is anything like the one I had, good luck!
Eventlab 1 – TWISTEDKNOT Presents Valley Park Raceway
This time we need a Track Toy, tuned to only A Class 800. I went with the BMW M3 GTR, and the share code is: 198385025.
A nice little track that suits the chosen car class perfectly, I liked this one.
Take away a Super Wheelspin for completing this, why don’t you?
Eventlab 2 – PATO BINCIDI Presents GP Montayo
For this event, we need a Retro Sports Car, tuned to A Class 800. I chose a stock TVR Sagaris, as if we are going to race, what can be better than racing sideways?
A long and reasonably challenging track, this was another good entry.
For winning out, we can take away a BMW i8.
Eventlab 3 – MASTERL19 Presents Kruos Circuit
We need an S1 Class 900 Track Toy, and I went with a 911 GT2 RS from 2012, share code : 129256081.
A tricky course where the cars don’t seem to suit how tight and twisty it is, this track isn’t one of my faves I’m afraid.
We can take away a Jaguar E-Type LW for winning out.
PR Stunt 1 – Speed Trap – Swamplands
This week, all the PR stunts need the same class of car, a Classic Racer tuned to A Class 800.
We need to clear the trap at over 133 MPH, and this car should do it easily – The Ford GT40 Mk1, share name “GT40” with my GT, Red620Ti.
Do so and you’ll find a Super Wheelspin heading your way in return.
PR Stunt 2 – Speed Trap – Cloverleaf
Same car class, same challenge, same car!
The target this time is to exceed 175 mph. This is quite close to the top speed, so keep the hammer down.
Yet another Super Wheelspin???
PR Stunt 3 – Speed Zone – Riviera Maya
Some average speed driving to do here, and this time the target is 102 mph. I went again with the same Ford as above.
Another Super Wheelspin. I just can’t…
Seasonal Championship 1 – Going for Marigold
Those pun writers are back.
We need to use a Classic Racer, but this time the tuning limit is B Class 700. I went with a Lotus Cortina, share name is “CORTINA” with my GT, Red620Ti.
For winning out, we can take home a #6 Lola T70
Seasonal Championship 2 – On the Run
GR Supra Vs Z4 Roadster this week, and there’s really only one choice – JDM all the way!
A Class 800 is the tuning limit, and the share code for mine is : 984217186.
The prize for winning is a Porsche 911 GT2 RS 2018, which we need for the weekly car challenge. Handy!
Part 3: Other Challenges
There’s always more to get involved in than just the racing, and that is the case again this week with Series 33 Winter. A photo, a collectible challenge, some open racing and some Playground games to have a crack at!
Photo Challenge – #CORRADOATDORADO
We have to photograph a VW Corrado VR6 at the Descansar Dorado start line. Should be fairly straight forward?
Enjoy my artistic effort up at the top of this piece. The location you need to be in is below.
The reward? A new set of German Driving gloves. Sounds efficient…
Horizon Open – Ready to Race
We need to complete any Horizon Open race in a BMW this week. I can’t suggest a tune, as it could be any class, but do your best. Luckily we don’t have to win!
A new song, Porter Robinson – Language is the prize. Groovy.
Collectible Challenge – Winner Takes it All
We need to smash 10 Podium Tanks at the Horizon Apex outpost this week. I’ll post a picture of what you need to be on the lookout for below, along with the location.
For doing so, we get a new Forzalink phrase – “Tanks for the Memories”. Puntastic.
Playground Games – Dodge, Drive, Win, Survive!
We are playing survival this week, and we need to do it in a Dodge car tuned to A Class 800. I chose a stock Dodge Viper GTS ACR, as there is no point tuning as we don’t need to win.
The prize for taking part is another Forzalink phrase, “BRRRAAIIIIINNNNNSSSSSS”.
Part 4: Hot Wheels Events
If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.
Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Zone – The Ribbon
We need to use only a Nissan, tuned to S1 Class 900.
I used the Nissan GT-R Black Edition, and the share code is : 394811233. Should be a challenge.
The prize is another Super Wheelspin. You know, those things we really don’t need…
Seasonal Championship – From Forest to Frost
We need to use the Nissan S1 900 Class car again, so I stayed in the GT-R Black Edition.
Completing the championship will get us a Toyota Supra from ‘98.
Part 5: Rally Adventure Events
The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…
Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Zone – Devils Pass
Get in a Mini John Cooper Works, tune to only B Class 700 and try to beat the target.
We need to hit 73 mph average, which sounds easy, but this is a B Class car…
I used a Mini JCW GP from 2012, and the share name is “JCW” with my GT, Red620Ti.
A Super Wheelspin is your reward.
Seasonal Championship – In the Works
Guess what we need this time? Yep, the same Mini as above, so no point changing.
For winning either solo or in a convoy, it is a clothing reward – The APex Predators tee.
The rewards for Series 33 and Winter in Forza Horizon 5
With Series 33 on the move, we can start saving up those points to get our hands on the cars for the month. And they are the Pro Stock Camaro for 80 points and a Hot Wheels Trans Am for 160.
Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 33 as well. There are four to try your hand at this month – Sierra Verde Sprint, Bahia De Plano Circuit, Bola Ocho Circuit and finally Los Jardines Circuit. Post a clean lap on each to score 4 whole points towards the prize cars.
Grab enough points and Series 33 Autumn also sees you given access to the exclusive #1 Evolution TA for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a KTM X-Bow GT4, a hard to find car apparently.
To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.
Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
Thank you for your rundown on the FH5 playlists, it’s such a huge help. And I always get a laugh from some of your comments. Keep up the amazing work 👍🏼
Thanks Kirsti, it always makes me happy that someone reads at least something I write!
