Old-school fans rejoice as A Hat in Time, inspired by N64 platformers Super Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie, is releasing on Xbox One and PS4 today!
Labelled as a ‘cute-as-heck 3D platformer’, the name of the game is to take Hat Girl on an adventure, recovering the hourglass-shaped fuel needed to power her spaceship. You will need to travel through 5 different cutesy, colourful worlds, smacking foes away with your trusty umbrella and other weapons, all the while upgrading your hat by gaining badges.
You won’t be the only one hunting down this fuel, as others will be getting in your way, with the evil Mustache Girl your main enemy to do battle with.
Aside from the main game, some challenge levels will deliver you some rare loot upon beating them.
For any fans of colorful platformers harking back to the good old days of 3D platformers, A Hat in Time will satisfy your need for nostalgia, whilst promising various abilities and levels to get through.
Previously on PC, Xbox and Playstation gamers can now pick A Hat in Time up on the Microsoft Store or on the Playstation Store today for £23.99. It’s not dirt cheap, but it may well be worth a little look – our upcoming review should be able to sort you out on that matter.Â
