Want to play No Man’s Sky on your Xbox One? Well that has just taken a big step closer to reality.
After releasing on PS4 and PC back in August 2016, No Man’s Sky from Hello Games has always seen Xbox One owners needing to cast a jealous eye. But not for much longer.
505 Games and Hello Games have today announced No Man’s Sky Next, with the former distributing it to Xbox One retail around the globe. Currently deep in development, Next will arrive as a free update to existing players on PS4 and PC, as well as launching fully on Xbox One.
With millions of gamers having spent hundreds of millions of hours voyaging across its vast, procedurally-generated sandbox universe – exploring, trading and fighting in a living breathing universe, No Man’s Sky has been a bit of a hit. In the last 18 months though, Hello Games and No Man’s Sky’s community of avid followers have continued to build out the game through 3 major updates (Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises) and dozens of smaller patches.
Inspired by the adventure and imagination of classic science-fiction, No Man’s Sky delivers you to a galaxy ready to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, constant danger and action. Every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose, flying smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits.
“We are calling this No Man’s Sky NEXT because it is an important next step in a journey for No Man’s Sky, for Hello Games and for our devoted community.” said Sean Murray, founder at Hello Games. “Each update for No Man’s Sky has been more successful than the last; this was especially true of our last update Atlas Rises. It emboldens the team to push ourselves further. This journey is far from over, and it’s exciting to be working again on something you know will surprise people.”
The infinite procedurally generated universe of No Man’s Sky will see you discovering places and creatures that no other players have seen before – and perhaps never will again… and now it’ll soon be time for Xbox One owners to enjoy everything it brings.
