The team at PQube have been awfully busy of late, pushing out announcements and games at an astonishing pace. But today isn’t just about an announcement, nor is it about a release of a game – it’s about both, as Zengeon releases on Steam as well as getting full console confirmation treatment.
Running as an anime-styled roguelite, those who frequent the PC world will be pleased to hear that Zengeon is now available for purchase and download on Steam. Just head on over to the usual Steam page and grab your hit of anime goodness.
But whilst that is great news for many, as console players it’s the new confrimation that Zengeon will be moving away from the PC landscape that interests us most, with confirmation that it’ll be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch later this year.
Created by the devs at IndieLeague Studio, and pushed out to the world via PQube (of Nexomon: Extinction and Arcade Spirits glory) Zengeon has been inspired by ancient Chinese culture and design, working in new anime roguelite elements in the process. Should you be up for uncovering the mystical story found within, by collecting Memory Fragments in levels that change every time you play, then keeping an eye out for Zengeon later this year should certainly be something to consider.
It promises to feature random enemies, power-ups, bosses and puzzles every time, and you can look forward to endless unique runs too, both across solo gameplay and via online multiplayer.

- Six Unique Characters – Each student of the Celestial College controls a Guardian spirit with amazing abilities and features! Find the pair that appeals most to your playstyle and fight your way through the hordes of darkness!
- Roguelite Thrill – Dying to one of the many hazards makes you lose everything except for the Memory Fragments you collected. Adapt to Zengeon’s challenges on your own or with up to three party members online!
- Dynamic Power-ups – Randomised power-ups give your hits a chance to summon minions like lightning elementals, cause blizzards or heal you. Find your favourites as you mix and match!
- Tradition meets Anime – The beautiful anime art style reimagines ancient Chinese culture in a super stylish way. Explore mystical levels, strange dimensions and impressive arenas full of passion for detail.
