a plague tale requiem launch

It took a little while for A Plague Tale: Innocence to receive the acclaim it deserves. After going a little under the radar upon first launch in 2019, it was only through word of mouth, and an Xbox Series X|S optimised upgrade, in which it finally hit the masses. Now though it’s time for Asobo Studio to continue the heart-wrenching tale with A Plague Tale: Requiem. And best yet? It’s on Game Pass.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC (yep, this is a game that needs the power of the latest consoles to run), Focus Entertainment and Asobo have come together once more to again place you in the shoes of the brother and sister combo of Amicia and Hugo. After ripping through life last time out, once more Amicia and Hugo find themselves in trouble, all as they hunt for a cure for Hugo’s debilitating curse.

A tale that is full of the supernatural, pushed along by some of the most intense, vibrant, stunning visuals we’ve yet seen on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 or PC, A Plague Tale: Requiem will have you trying to help Amicia and Hugo as they struggle for survival in a world that is far from safe.

Following on neatly from A Plague Tale: Innocence, Requiem will instantly be familiar to those who have taken in Asobo’s previous creation, ensuring that those who know how to ‘use the light’ will find an all-new adventure awaiting. Just be sure, that adventure and the journey that the two main protagonists who star will be treated to plenty more ‘rat-action’ as Asobo ramp up the needs of gamers once more. If you thought the previous game has rats aplenty, you ain’t seen nothing yet – more than 300,000 will be on-screen at any one time.

We don’t need to tell you that A Plague Tale: Requiem is one of those games that you should be playing; Innocence proved just how deep and immersive this story can get. But yeah, you SHOULD be playing, especially if you have an Xbox Game Pass subscription because that makes it all the more of a no-brainer.

Key features include:

  • ● Sequel to the award-winning adventure A Plague Tale: Innocence
  • ● A spectacular grounded tale twisted by supernatural forces
  • ● Use a variety of tools, sneak, fight, or unleash hell and rats
  • ● Stunning visuals combine with an enthralling score

Sound good? If you loved what A Plague Tale: Innocence provided a few years back, then we think you’ll love A Plague Tale: Requiem. Our full review is live.

You’ll find A Plague Tale: Requiem playing out on Xbox Series X|S from the Xbox Store. It’ll cost you £49.99 unless you make the most of Game Pass. It’s also on PS5 and PC too.

Alongside that base game is also the Protector Pack. Costing a mere £2.49 this adds in a Red Damsel skin for the crossbow (once you’ve unlocked that), flowers for Amicia’s hair and a ton of metal scraps and tools to help you gear up early doors.

Game Description:

Far across the sea, an island calls… Embark on a heartrending journey into a brutal, breathtaking world twisted by supernatural forces. After escaping their devastated homeland, Amicia and Hugo travel far south, to new regions and vibrant cities. There, they attempt to start a new life and control Hugo’s curse. But, when Hugo’s powers reawaken, death and destruction return in a flood of devouring rats. Forced to flee once more, the siblings place their hopes in a prophesized island that may hold the key to saving Hugo. Discover the cost of saving those you love in a desperate struggle for survival. Strike from the shadows or unleash hell, overcoming foes and challenges with a variety of weapons, tools and unearthly powers.
