How would you cope with a world-ending climate catastrophe? Well, in Highwater, you kick back and enjoy a super relaxing boat trip. Why not?
Available right now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC is Highwater. Another of those games which have ditched old-gen tech to rely only on the power of current-gen consoles, this is a game that comes from the creative minds of Demagog Studio.
Having already picked up numerous awards (Winner of the Gold NYX Awards for Best PC Visual Art and Best PC Indie), Highwater makes waves in full, giving players the chance to zone out with the most zen of tunes. And you’ll get to take in a brilliant adventure along the way.
Share the universe
Highwater is the first chronologically of a trilogy of same-universe games. That means it is found sharing elements of Golf Club Nostalgia (previously called Golf Club Wasteland) and The Cub in order to complete the Demagog series.
This time around it has you joining Nikos and his crew of misfits, left to navigate their way to safety – aka a rocket to Mars – after the Great Climate Catastrophe that has taken place. This means you’ll be found travelling across a flooded zone, discovering islands, tackling foes via a turn-based combat system. Whether you are a tactician or a puzzle solver, Highwater will keep you immersed.
The question is, will you and Nikos make it to Mars? Or will a watery grave await?
“Highwater tells an emotional story about friendships and survival in a flooded post-apocalyptic world equally disturbing and beautiful,” said Rogue CEO Matt Casamassina. “And it belongs to a much larger universe that spans three self-contained games.”

- 3D Exploration & Discovery – Float along the vast waterways freely in your boat and explore the many different islands of a beautiful world where you’ll encounter danger, interact with fellow citizens, gather resources, and fight for a chance to escape to a new life.

Highwater Description
Highwater is a whimsical, 3D adventure game with an isometric turn-based puzzle-combat system set in a flooded, post-apocalyptic world. Navigate by boat, discover islands, find new allies to help battle foes, and experience a humorous tale about friendship in this melancholic and atmospheric escape.
Amid the Great Climate Catastrophe, the flooded region of Hightower has become a kind of safe zone between the two dry regions: the nearly global ravaged land of the War Zone, and the fortified city of Alphaville, where the ultra-rich live behind giant walls.
With life on Earth becoming untenable for humans, and rumors of an escape to Mars floating around, Nikos begins a risky journey, picking up friends along the way. First to Hightower, then beyond to cross the impenetrable border of Alphaville, battling insurgents and stealing food along the way. Will Nikos and his friends manage to sneak onto the rocket in time?
