2017 has seen a huge influx of NeoGeo titles arrive on Xbox One. In fact, we’ve had a bit of everything that we every wanted, plus a whole load of stuff we didn’t. Today the Xbox One NeoGeo library continues to expand with a game that I, quite honestly, have never heard of. But the chance to become a Magician Lord sounds pretty damn intriguing.
Available now for £6.39 is ACA NEOGEO Magician Lord… a game that was first released by SNK back in 1990. Now, I’m not sure how or why I haven’t heard of this one, as the vast majority of Neo titles that have arrived have actually rung a small bell in my mind, but that is neither here nor there – all we need to worry about is that it is now here and ready to be played.
But what is it? Well, Magician Lord is a side scroller in which you take charge of magician, Elta who is on a journey to save the entire world from Gal-Agiese. As you can probably tell, it’s one of those pretty generic stories that did the rounds back in the early ’90s, but with its arrival on Xbox One, we know get to enjoy the luxury of a variety of game settings, letting us mix up the difficulty should we so wish. There are also leaderboards present now – something which was just a dream when the game originally dropped.
