Never would we have thought to be helping out Little Red Riding Hood and going on adventures with Robin Hood, all while attempting to take down an evil fantasy crime syndicate while on a quest from the King – but Artifex Mundi have somehow delivered all this! Queen’s Quest 2: Stories of Forgotten Past is on Xbox One, and offers up a new adventure based around fantasy, magic and fairytales.
Playing as a renowned alchemist on a mission from the King to explore the murder of a trusted agent, you soon get into all kinds of trouble with a shady criminal network orchestrating proceedings from the shadows. It’s certainly a dark and twisting plot for what is a fiendishly tricky riddle solving, puzzle beating, hidden object finding title, and throw in the addition of Red Riding Hood, Robin Hood and many more from folklore, and things get a lot weirder.
As with many of the Artifex Mundi titles, which we have just so happened to have reviewed upon their release, Queen’s Quest 2 will have you adventuring through tens of beautifully stylized hand-drawn scenes, and from there attempting to solve some pretty tough puzzles and finding objects in a number of hidden object scenes. These activities will require you to call upon the magical powers and shape-shifting skills you handily possess as a famous alchemist.
For veterans of the franchises Artifex have built up, this is all pretty familiar to you. But Queen’s Quest 2: Stories of Forgotten Past looks to be a great title for new players to get into the puzzler-come-hidden object genre that Artifex Mundi are the kings, or in this case queens, of.
