ASTRO have grown with the esports boom and today are announcing confirmation of their latest headset…the A40 TR Headset and Mixamp Pro TR.

Due for launch at the beginning of October, and appealing to pro gamers and hardcore enthusiasts (yeh, we’d love to be the former but will have to settle for the latter!), the ASTRO A40 TR Headset and the Mixamp Pro TR will work with Xbox One, PS4 and PC/Mac, ensuring that ASTRO are first to the table in bringing an mixamp to Xbox One in the process.

With a glorious design oozing with quality, the version we are most interested in is of course the Xbox One variety.

Coming in white, with just some discreet red ASTRO branding, both the headset and the mixamp are beautiful to look at…and will no doubt be an absolute joy to use. Tuned with ASTRO Audio for optimal sound quality and surround sound accuracy for gaming, the latest iteration of the revered A40 headset comes with an open back design for natural sound and less ear fatigue during extended play sessions. Long-term comfort is also ensured with over-ear design and swappable cloth ear cushions and headband, whilst the highly accurate swappable boom mic will bring glory to your gaming sessions, livestreams or professional matchups.

The Mixamp meanwhile compliments the headset lovingly, with an Xbox One specific edition carrying over the white theme. With a powerful new software customisation tool, the ASTRO Command Centre allows for digital tuning of every input and output level, alongside detailing settings for every environment. With less than 1ms delay time, game voice balancing and working on Xbox One with USB and Optical cable connections, no extra chat cable is required. Best thing of all? It works flawlessly with every single ASTRO headset ever produced.

But that’s not all. The A40 headset can be modded and with some simple but highly effective mod-kits containing noise-cancelling ear cushions, closed back speaker tags, voice isolating mic, leather headband all in ASTRO green or adorned with the Call of Duty Black Ops III emblems, can be transformed from a standard high end headset into a tournament ready battle machine.

“With ASTRO Gaming’s new Tournament Ready (TR) series of audio products, we’re reaffirming our commitment to the eSports community globally. Professional gamers have long trusted ASTRO due to our single-minded commitment to delivering products that push the envelope of performance, comfort, durability, style and customization,” said Aron Drayer, VP of Marketing, ASTRO Gaming. “eSports has changed dramatically in the 7 years since we launched our original A40 headset and MixAmp and has come to include more than just tournament play. eSports now includes livestreaming as both a spectator and a competitor, as well as a new generation of professionals who started in eSports and then launched careers in gaming. The definition of who a professional gamer is has changed, and our new products deliver the features and functionality this community demands.”

PS4 and PC streamers will have to make do with the black version…but they really shouldn’t be disappointed with that. It’s just as glorious.

ASTRO look to be on to a bit of a winner with the A40 TR and Mixamp. You’ll be able to grab them from October 8th 2015 and whilst European prices are to be confirmed a US price of $249 gives you some idea of what to expect.
