A PlayStation fan for most of his childhood, once he picked up an Xbox with Panzer Dragoon Orta he never looked back.
Tamarin on Xbox is a game that does not know what it wants to be, one capable of completely blindsiding player expectations. It’s simply a weird game, perhaps one of the weirdest in the platformer genre. Still, the real disappointment is just how boring and bare the third person shooting action is, with no real sense of rewarding level design or progression.
Alchemic Cutie on Xbox is an interesting but tough sell. It no doubt has its charms and strengths, and yet its distinguishing ideas lack real substance in execution; the experience as a whole can feel pointless for a genre that is known to champion a pointless slice of life loop in the first place.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is a solid and enjoyable remake of a Harvest Moon classic. Yet while you get to enjoy a classic experience intact, it also feels incredibly dated given the other options available on Xbox today.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy- Definitive Edition on Xbox is an overpriced and poorly produced release which does absolutely no favours to the classic games it attempts to celebrate. The experience here is far from definitive, and aside from the sheer laziness in the graphical remastering and performance, it introduces a whole slew of performance issues.

There are not many adventures on Xbox which resemble The Legend of Zelda, and so A Knight’s Quest might be a fun little alternative for Xbox gamers who are after that style of adventure. For most gamers however, this is an average clone at best, which despite some good intentions simply underwhelms in execution.

In 2019 a game rising from the ashes of SEGA’s past has landed on Xbox One in what is perhaps the most experimental exclusive the system has ever scored. This game is Gaijin Charenji 1: Kiss or Kill, the debut release by freshly minted developer, overGame Studio.
Xbox has done a lot to entertain gamers all over the globe, but what have they contributed to curing the ever growing epidemic of poor hygiene and stopping the outbreak of bodily odours? What will become of our society if Xbox gamers don’t look and smell their best.
Much like how WayForward rebooted and reimagined the seminal Double Dragon franchise with the ‘80s nostalgia-powered Double Dragon Neon in 2012, in 2019 they have outdone themselves with the Japanese pop culture spectacle in River City Girls.
VASARA Collection brings together the original VASARA and VASARA 2 in one place with a few noteworthy extras to boot, particularly VASARA Timeless which is practically a brand-new game.
Mighty Switch Force! Collection provides WayForward’s most exemplar IP all in one place, and while it might be missing an iOS spin-off or two, the main titles are intact.
What should have occurred in 2005 has now finally been righted in 2019, as this title once left in Japan has now been born anew as Metal Wolf Chaos XD, fully updated and optimised for Xbox One (not to mention One X ready). Xbox’s best kept secret has finally found the worldwide audience it always deserved.
It’s easy to make fun of fighting game revisions/expansions, but there’s no denying each entry bolstered the fighting roster and gameplay substantially, particularly with the swansong entry Ultra Street Fighter IV.
