Become the King of the Hat

Don’t have a hat? You don’t have a life! In King of the Hat, the latest chaotic party game on PC and console, you must protect your hat, as your life actually depends on it.

In this very very serious, very ultra hat-based game (words of developer Hat Games, not us), you will not be able to miss a single beat. Let’s hope it is as fun and colourful as its hat-based companion A Hat in Time is!

Soul in a Hat

Available now on Xbox, Switch and PlayStation consoles, following a prior release on PC, this 2-4 player party game will pit you against family and friends to see who can survive the mayhem.

Playable in both local and online multiplayer formats, King of the Hat tasks you with ensuring your hat stays firmly yours, whilst knocking off those of the competition. After all, your very soul is housed within your head-gear!

The way to do this is to fling your hat at others, deeming it temporarily invulnerable and therefore keeping it safe whilst also damaging others. Alternatively, a good old ground-pound will do the trick, and will also knock the hat off of your foes.

Whilst the basics of King of the Hat are simple, you’ll quickly learn some complex moves and tactics to emerge victorious as much as possible. Throw in the ability to change the rules, add power-ups and include hazards in the compact levels, and you’ll soon find yourself in a whole new strategy game.

King of the Hat is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation, Switch and PC today.

It’ll currently cost you £16.74 via the Xbox Store

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
