Not that long ago, we were treated to a behind-the-scenes look via an Othercide web series by developers Lightbulb Crew, but now it’s a fully-fledged title with a sublime aesthetic. Playing as ‘The Daughters’ – descendants of the greatest warrior there ever was – you’re the only hope of stopping the Suffering from decimating the entire human race. The idea is to lead your army of Daughters into battle against these dreaded creatures and the epic bosses commanding them.
Your decisions in combat will shape the army’s abilities and personalities. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to ensure the survival of your finest warriors, which will see them grow stronger for the battles ahead. Another neat feature is the Dynamic Timeline System; instead of simply controlling where and what your units do, you will also be able to choose when things happen. Just imagine the possibilities like interrupting an enemy attack before it even occurs, or unleashing a devastating chain of combos.
