Do you like using paddles and a ball to break bricks? Is that a yes? Then today’s release is for you! Previously a PS4 and PS Vita exclusive, Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure is now available on Xbox One, Switch and PC.

If you’ve followed the video game industry during the past decade, then you’ve likely heard of Colin Moriarty. Over the years, Colin went from being a reporter at IGN to co-founding Kinda Funny Games. Among other things, he hosted the PS I Love You XOXO podcast discussing all things PlayStation, before eventually moving on to work on his own projects.

One of these projects is Sacred Symbols, a podcast dedicated to, once again, all things PlayStation. Joined by co-host Chris Ray Gun, Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure is their first foray into video game development. Twin Breaker is developed by Lillymo Games and written by Colin himself and pays homage to the 8-bit games of yore.

Together, Colin and Chris become the unlikely heroes of the distant 24th century. While the world is still recovering from another World War, the two must figure out why advanced NASA space vessels are vanishing into interstellar space. It’s a far-fetched narrative for a seemingly simplistic arcade-style game of pong.

In Twin Breaker, you control paddles to deflect a bouncy ball and break bricks with it. Meanwhile, you’re also collecting different powerups and doing your best to accumulate a higher score. Twin Breaker features a fairly lengthy 40-level campaign, challenging boss battles, a multitude of additional game modes including a New Game+ mode and a vibrant art style to boot. There’s certainly no lack of content for would-be space voyagers.

Head on over to the Xbox Store and get yourself a copy of Twin Breaker for £8.39. Twin Breaker is also available on PC and Nintendo’s eShop this very moment. And for the already released PlayStation 4 and PS Vita versions, make sure to visit the PlayStation Store. Most reviews of the PlayStation version landed in the average / above average spectrum. But stay tuned for our upcoming Xbox One review to see if it’s worth your time and money.

Game Description:

Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure is a story-driven brick breaking game molded in the style of ‘80s arcade classics like Arkanoid and Breakout, but with a plot, characters, and meaning! In the early 2300s, Earth is still recovering from a decades-long World War that engulfed most of the planet, except for an isolationist United States that used its power and prestige not to fight, but to reach for the stars. But when NASA’s generation ships disappear in interstellar space, only two pilots are capable of figuring out why. Featuring 40 stages, four boss fights, New Game+, multiple extra features, plenty of story and dialogue, collectibles, a rocking soundtrack, and a fun achievement system, Twin Breaker is an ode to both the past and the future. Twin Breaker’s story is written by long-time media personality and podcast host Colin Moriarty.
