Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion Xbox

Square Enix are capping off their hot streak of 2022 releases with a remaster of an absolute classic. Not content with the likes of The DioField Chronicle or Star Ocean The Divine Force in the past few months alone, they’re now bringing one of their PSP exclusives to modern consoles. Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is out today on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

To give the game its Sunday name, Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is a HD Remaster of the 2007 PSP game. Itself a prequel to an all-time classic: Final Fantasy VII. This time though, we explore the mysterious origin story of Zack Fair, a character who is only named in the original game. Along with Angeal and of course, Sephiroth, we discover the true story behind Zack and how he is connected to Cloud et al from the main game. Check out the launch trailer below:

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion also features:

  • All graphics fully remastered in HD, bringing the game to the latest console generation
  • Renewed 3D models, including characters and backgrounds, enriching the visual experience
  • Improved battle system providing a vastly smoother gameplay experience
  • Fully voiced dialogue in both English and Japanese
  • A newly arranged soundtrack from the original composer, Takeharu Ishimoto

Not only that, but it is also bringing along some Xbox Series X|S enhancements. We loved the PSP back in the day, but this will be the definitive way to enjoy the prequel.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is up on the Xbox Store now priced at £49.99. If you want something a little bit extra, there is the Digital Deluxe Edition for £64.99. This comes with the base game, original mini soundtrack and art book: HEROES Past and Present The Art of CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII–.

Will this be your first time playing or are you excited to return to Midgar? Either way let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for our review coming soon.
