Dead Cells: Fatal Falls DLC drops onto Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and PC

The award-winning, and simply brilliant, Dead Cells impressed with its metroidvania style platforming action a couple of years ago, but if you’re begging to prolong the experience further then you’re in luck. The second piece of paid DLC, Dead Cells: Fatal Falls, has arrived for Xbox One, Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Expect to discover two new biomes, fresh enemies, a killer boss, and more at very little extra cost!

Fatal Falls introduces a fairly decent amount of new content with two new biomes slipping into the game – the stunning views of ‘The Fractured Shrines and an incredibly creepy beach setting of ‘The Undying Shores’. These are parallels to the ‘Stilt Village’, ‘Clock Tower’ and ‘Time Keeper’ areas, essentially offering alternate paths to breathe new life into your next (or current) run-through.

You’ll encounter slightly psychotic enemies along the way like the Myopic Crow, the Clumsy Swordsman, the Compulsive Gravedigger and a few others, culminating with the final boss, The Scarecrow. Keep an eye out for exploding mushrooms when facing the cranky boss, who may look rather familiar – spoiler, The Scarecrow is the Royal Gardener after succumbing to the Malaise virus.

In regards to additional weapons brought about by the Fatal Falls DLC, well the new maniacal sword is certainly front and centre. It’s apparently designed to bring those using a Brutality build a real counterpart to the Great Owl and Mushroom Boi. Furthermore, the iconic Scythes have been thrown into the mix; they’re attracted to enemies and will follow you around a bit. On the whole though, get ready to grasp Lightning Rods, Ferryman’s Lantern, Scarecrow’s Sickles, Iron Staff, Snake Fangs, Serenade and even the ominous sounding Cocoon.

The Dead Cells: Fatal Falls DLC is available right now on the Xbox Store for the relatively low cost of £4.19 and, of course, it’ll work on Xbox Series X|S thanks to backward compatibility. Don’t worry if you want to purchase it for another platform as it can also be found on the PS Store, Nintendo eShop and Steam!

You’ll also find it available with the base game and other DLC in the Dead Cells: Fatal Seed Bundle for £24.99.

DLC Description:

Try not to fall as you wind your way along the sheer cliffs of the island’s coast. Explore floating shrines, infiltrate the lair of an outlawed secret society and learn the tells of a new boss. This is new mid game content for people looking for alternatives to the Stilt Village, Clock Tower and Time Keeper areas and their parallels. The Fractured Shrines: Breathtaking views, kamikaze crows, spear-wielding snakes, sadistic new traps and an endless fall if you slip. What more could you ask for? The Undying Shores: Not the beach you had in mind for your time off… Creepy lantern wielding wizards and their shovel brandishing minions. Not at all the holiday you planned… The Mausoleum: A new humanoid boss with his own story to tell, tough pattern based combat and a magnificent setting for a showdown. On top of the new areas, enemies and pet sword, you’ll of course need new tools for killing and what we’ve provided here should be particularly effective.
