If you’re looking for a fast, unforgiving action-adventure RPG that will allow you the chance to destroy, absorb and grow, then GRIME is going to be the game for you. Today it comes to Xbox and PlayStation, joining the PC brigade as access to the Colors of Rot expansion is included.
Created by those at Clover Bit and Akupara Games (The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark) , GRIME breaks free from the previously shackles of PC to release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5 and just as the base game hits home hard, the Colors of Rot accompanies it.
Priced at £20.99 from the Xbox Store, GRIME promises much. Alongside those action adventure and RPG elements, comes some 2.5D Soulslike metroidvania action, as you look to take down anything that may get in your way. That’s a lot of different genres smooshed together there, but judging by the Steam reception – 2600+ reviews, Very Positive – it’s one that works. Dropping into GRIME, you’ll find yourself in charge of a nameless embodiment of destruction, before hacking and slashing your way through a hardcore landscape and world. It’s here where you’ll make the most of the ‘living’ weapons that are at your disposal; weapons that can be fully upgraded to make them all powerful.
That base game is accompanied (on Xbox, PlayStation AND PC) by the new Colors of Rot expansion, adding in new abilities and weapons, extra enemies and more.
