Are you ready to run, jump, fight and explore? The mini mega-metroidvania that is Sun Wukong VS Robot is now available on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch.

Available to purchase and download right now, thanks to a three-way combination of Ratalaika Games, Bitca and Indienova, Sun Wukong VS Robot is the latest metroidvania-styled affair to come to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch – albeit it in miniature.

Priced at a mere £4.99 (this is a Ratalaika release after all and that means a cheap price and easy achievements are a gimme), Sun Wukong VS Robot has quite obviously been inspired by the classics of the gaming world as we are thrust into the life of a solitary hero – Wukong. Dropped into the centre of a mechanical maze, you’ll be left to help this little guy regain his freedom by taking down four robots. Do so and not only will an escape from the maze be on the cards, but the mind locker that is attached to his head will be removed.

Sun Wukong VS Robot will see you making the most of three different skills, all of which are upgradeable as you work your way through the many rooms of this maze. Utilising classic platforming mechanics, and enjoying the plethora of abilities at your disposal, should you be on the lookout for a new metroidvania styled release, but don’t have the hours for a full lengthy month long sitdown, Sun Wukong VS Robot should suffice.

You’ll find Sun Wukong VS Robot present on the digital stores for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (Xbox Store), PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

We’ll have a full Xbox review for you in the days ahead too.

Game Description:

Get ready to run, jump, fight, and explore! Sun Wukong VS Robot is a mini retro pixel metroidvania game inspired by old-school classics. Sun Wukong has awakened. Our hero appears at the center of a mechanical maze and is holding the weapon from his legends. However, he is imprisoned by a mind locker that has been put on his head. To regain his freedom, Wukong must defeat the four robots.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
