Already having done the rounds on Steam, picking up some mostly positive reviews since launch back in 2018, Dustwind – The Last Resort is now set to blow in to the console scene, with Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5 launches planned.

Coming from Z-Software GmbH, a game development studio who many may well know for the Autobahn Police Simulator series, Dustwind – The Last Resort is a real time post-apocalyptic tactical game, and at some point this summer it’ll be found rolling around the Xbox and PlayStation stores.

Dustwind – The Last Resort picks up after the apocalypse of civilization as we know, with only a few hardy folk alive, fighting for survival. It is here where you come in, dropping in to the hard wastelands times as a nameless heroine. However, a vicious assault has hit you hard, leaving you without your memory and hopelessly outnumbered as you look to head off on a crusade, fighting your way through your tormentors in order to take revenge.

Throughout Dustwind you’ll need to be on your toes, acting not just carefully, but cleverly. You see, during this adventure, it will occur to you that it’s not only your own fate that is at stake but much, much more…

The emotional story campaign that brings together Dustwind will lead you through 16 intense missions, with each one raising the stakes higher than the last one. You’ll be found collecting weapons and gear, developing your character based on your gameplay preferences, and become a leading figure in the darkest of times!

You’ll also have to make quick tactical decisions if you want to survive – sneaking, aiming for bodyparts, using varied weapons and ammo, driving vehicles and deploying turrets and barricades. You’ll also need to use the environment to your advantage, tricking and flanking your enemies, and making the most of any traps that are out there.

The Last Resort aspect of Dustwind sees the focus placed firmly on the single player experience with new controls and reworked UI for a great console experience.

Game features include:

  • Tactical Action Combat: You will need your tactical thinking and just a bit of reflexes as you lead your character into battle. Sneak, aim for bodyparts, use varied weapons and ammo, drive vehicles, deploy turrets and barricades, use the environment to your advantage, trick and flank your enemies.
  • Clusterfun: Nothing feels as good as killing your enemy with a toilet plunger fired from your compound bow right at his face. You could have used broadhead arrows or explosive arrows. But you didn´t. They DESERVED a plunger to the face, that´s why.
  • Single Player Campaign: Play the emotional story campaign of the nameless heroine. The story contains 16 missions with a playing time of around 10 hours.
  • Skirmish: A great variety of exciting game modes awaits you. In Dustwind you can play in different types of map!

Expect to see the game released in the summer of 2021 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 4 and Playstation 5.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
