Take to the field in Madden NFL 24

For us Eagles fans, the end of the last NFL season didn’t exactly go to plan. You’ll remember that we narrowly lost the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs. The six months that have followed have been just enough time to get over it. Now though, we’re ready for revenge. And that revenge starts today with early access for Madden NFL 24 on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

Allen stars

This time it comes featuring the Bills QB Josh Allen as the cover star. Madden NFL 24 is the latest instalment in the long running American Football franchise. Veterans should know what to expect by now; various different forms of game modes: Superstar, Madden Ultimate Team, Franchise, The Yard and more.

New features are exclusive to the Xbox Series X|S version and include the headline SAPIEN Technology. This is designed to make player movements and animations more realistic to some fancy skeletal technology. We’ll test out just how effective for our review coming soon.

This new tech will feed into the new passing and blocking features. Apparently you can now perform a no-look pass which is code for ‘showing off’. Is that enough to warrant an upgrade from Madden NFL 23?

The key features hit hard

However you play, the following features and game modes will be present in Madden NFL 24. Although things change slightly depending on which Xbox console you use.

Gameplay

  • AI Enhancements (Xbox Series X|S only) – Smarter AI enables smoother and more realistic player action and reaction to the plays you call
  • Skill-Based Passing 2.0 (Xbox Series X|S only) – Dive for a winning one-hander with improved catching AI, thread the needle with surgical accuracy using new throw animations, and anticipate more authentic defensive reactions with enhanced DB behavior.
