For the last four years we’ve cast a jealous eye the way of PC players, as they created wildlife worlds in Planet Zoo. But look that way no more, as Planet Zoo: Console Edition roars onto Xbox and PlayStation. Are you ready for the wildlife adventure of your dreams?

Previously only available on PC (Steam players have delivered some serious acclaim), Planet Zoo now comes to Xbox and PlayStation. It’s all thanks to the Frontier Development team, as they make a move from PC to console, ensuring that the simulation can stay wild.

Playable on Xbox Series X|S (no Xbox One play here) and PlayStation 5, it’s the power of the latest machines which has allowed Frontier to bring their huge wildlife adventure to console. A game that will see you building a world however you see fit, Planet Zoo: Console Edition comes complete with all the tool you would need. 

it also comes with all the animals too, from the biggest to the smallest, the tamest to the most fearsome. How will you fit them all into your Planet Zoo? Thankfully there are a range of habitats and landscapes too. Throw in four game modes – Campaign, Franchise, Challenge, Sandbox – and Planet Zoo: Console Edition on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 should keep you going for weeks, months and years.

How to play Planet Zoo: Console Edition on Xbox

There are numerous ways to take in Planet Zoo: Console Edition on Xbox Series X|S. The Standard Edition will cost you £39.99, whilst the Deluxe Edition ups things by a tenner. For that £49.99 you get the Deluxe Upgrade Pack chucked in; that in itself adds 16 species and 2 further scenarios in the campaign. 

And then there is the Planet Zoo: Ultimate Edition. Costing £99.99, this is a hefty old bundle, mixing the base game and everything included in the Deluxe Edition with the Season Pass too. The Season Pass comes with 14 future DLC packs including 81 new species, 15 scenarios and more than 2000 further scenery pieces. If you’re serious about Planet Zoo, this is the one you should be grabbing for however be aware that those bits of content will roll out between now and March 2025. 

Expect to find those packs on PlayStation too.
