Space combat in videogames has come a long way since Space Invaders and Asteroids. I mean, just look at Chorus. It’s hard to say it doesn’t look stunning, because it objectively does. And today is the day to find out if it plays well too as Chorus is now available on Xbox, PC, PlayStation and Google Stadia.
In Chorus, you control Nara, who is on a quest for salvation to destroy the cult that created her. Having gone into hiding, Nara and her sentient starfighter known as Forsaken are being hunted down by those she has wronged and been wronged by in the past.
Space dogfights can occur in any location in Chorus, from the vast openness of space, to asteroid fields and tight crystalline corridors. Nara and Forsaken will need to keep their eyes open to avoid detection whilst being ready to pounce at any moment. Fortunately, Forsaken is a nimble ship, capable of quite literally drifting around the corners of space and time.
Forsaken also has a wide and punishing range of arsenal under their hood. Not only that, Forsaken can apply some telekinetic abilities to give them and Nara the upper hand against those coming after them.
