With over 280 unique scenarios set out across two deep campaigns, over 1000 abilities to combine with up to four online co-op friends, and a wealth of mercenaries to take to battle, there’s plenty to experiment with in Gloomhaven. It’s the latter that are especially intriguing; the mercenary you pick will have huge bearings on the card-based combat gameplay, and how you approach the game in general. Role-playing is firmly at the forefront of Gloomhaven.
