We’ve all seen enough films to know that things rarely go the way as planned with concerned with space. And when you are tasked with finding some off-world item with “unique properties”, you are just inviting trouble. And yet, this is exactly what has happened in Dolmen, out today on Xbox, PlayStation and Steam.
The titular Dolmen is actually a crystal that allow interaction with different realities, that have the power to advance human evolution overnight. Still, there is probably a reason why they cannot be found on Earth, and it may have something to do with the aliens that inhabit Revion Prime. It is up to you to force your way through the extra-terrestrials with a mix of melee and ranged combat in this action-RPG sci-fi Souls-like.
Dolmen also features a novel mechanic known as ‘Energy Mode’. Energy is used for ranged attacks but can also be activated on melee weapons to add elemental status effects. If you know a particular enemy is weak to certain elements, strike up ‘Energy Mode’ and watch their life bar disappear.
Of course, this wouldn’t be a true Souls-like without huge, terrifying bosses, and gorgeous but mysterious world to explore and a strong degree of difficulty.
