Before we know it Milestone Studios and Dorna Sports will be giving us the opportunity to join the MotoGP 21 grid, with the next highly anticipated addition to the series. Before release though they have dropped the very first gameplay trailer, and detailed a new Penalty feature that should ensure the racing found within is kept fair.Â
MotoGP 21 will be revving up for release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC on April 22nd 2021, following on from the other games in the series to deliver what should be the greatest MotoGP video gaming experience yet.Â
In order to ensure that things are of the highest quality, and to allow MotoGP 21 players to take in an experience that is more real than ever before, a new Long Lap Penalty system will be added. Just one of many new gameplay mechanics to be found in MotoGP 21 in the hope that it provides the electrifying, strategic and adrenaline-fueled racing simulation we expect, the Long Lap Penalty will hit those not riding in a fair manner.Â
It works by adding several seconds to any given lap in which discrepancies occur, pushing the rider to run on a route outside of the track; a route that is some seconds slower than the normal racing line. This is a useful tool for stewards looking to impose a minor penalty.Â
Check out the gameplay and how this will all play out in the first trailer for MotoGP 21 below. And if you wish to know more about the series as a whole, we’ve got full reviews of MotoGP 20, MotoGP 19 and MotoGP 18 on these links.
And then hold tight for release on April 22nd 2021 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC. As always, let us know in the comments all your MotoGP thoughts.
