Get the first look at pre-alpha gameplay of the Surge 2 in the latest trailer

After the success of sci-fi action-RPG The Surge last year, it was sure to get a sequel, and Focus Home Interactive and Deck 13 did in fact announce that The Surge 2 is expected to release in 2019. Now though, they are ready to show off the very first (pre-alpha) gameplay footage of The Surge 2 – would you like to see it?

The Gamescom 2018 trailer showcases the new Park sector, which is located in the middle of a city ravaged by the events of The Surge. Here, devious mercenaries called The Hunters roam the artificial, man-made forest, searching for a powerful creature. You must be wary of their traps, their cunning cloaking devices, and most importantly, the out of control former park guardians. If the Goddess in the video is anything to go by, the enemies will be rather formidable, that’s for sure.

For those unaware, The Surge 2 will once again stick to what made the first a success, whilst also improving upon it and that’s the hardcore combat that utilises a unique, dynamic limb targeting system and the deep character progression. The sequel takes place in a brand new environment that’s a sprawling, devastated city with larger and more ambitious level design than previously seen – made possible by Deck13’s upgraded and improved FLEDGE engine. Combat is set to be more brutal and tactical than ever, with advanced dodging, directional parrying, and unique AI behaviours. In addition to that, there are more abilities, weapons, implants, and drones to give players a vast arsenal to build their character with in their fight against the array of diverse new enemies and brutal bosses.

The Surge 2 releases in 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC!

Been gaming casually since the SNES as a youngster but found my true passion for games on the Playstation 1 (the forbidden word ooo). My addiction grew to its pinnacle with the purchase of an Xbox 360 & Xbox Live Service. A recovering GS hunter that will still play literally any game.
