You may have thought the most famous piece of hair in the gaming scene was that which belongs to Shantae; half-genie. You’d be right too, but our purple-haired heroine has got a bit of competition as Glam arrives on the scene in Glam’s Incredible Run: Escape from Dukha.

An acrobatic platformer in which you play as the titular Glam, utilising her flowing locks in order to traverse a multitude of levels, Glam’s Incredible Run: Escape from Dukha drops onto Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5 after previous success on Nintendo Switch.

Glam’s Incredible Run: Escape from Dukha is priced at £4.19 from the Xbox Store and will see you helping Glam resuce her mother from danger. You see, it’s her who has been held captive by an evil witch, as they hope to stop the joint mother-daughter powers from becoming one.

Created by Three Legged Egg and published by RED ART GAMES, Glam’s Incredible Run: Escape from Dukha has a story and stages that are split across no less than eleven chapters, with 220 odd levels playing host to all manner of peril – foes and traps alike. Each of these will require you to showcase your platforming skills as you swing from platform to platform, branch to branch with Glam’s hair holding you up.

But it gets better still and complementing the solo adventure is a local cooperative mode – with this playing host to another sixty levels.

The key features you should be following are…

  • -Hand crafted obstacle courses to test the limits of your acrobatic skills
  • -Tight, precise and simple controls: just three buttons and the joystick
  • -220+ Single player levels, split into 11 chapters each has its own unique peril
  • -60 multiplayer levels that demands endurance, flexibility and exceptional precise coordination of your movement
  • -Customizable character hero: Glam
  • -Charming music

We’re currently working through a review of Glam’s Incredible Run: Escape from Dukha on Xbox and will deliver our thoughts as and when we can. We’re just intrigued to see how that hair-swinging mechanic plays out.

You can pick up a copy of Glam’s Incredible Run: Escape from Dukha for yourself by visiting the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s on the PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop too.

There’s a trailer to take in too.

Game Description:

Glam is a hard, action packed acrobatic platformer game where you have to run, jump, climb and swing to make it to the exit without falling into the emptiness, getting hit by spikes and bullets, caught by goblins or squeezed by items. In this game you play as Glam, her goal is to rescue her mother from the realm of Caterina. She is being held captive by the evil witch to prevent Glam’s and her mother’s power to unite Glam has the most unique ability in the video game history. She can grab branches and swing by using her hair. Controls are simple: three buttons and a joystick. Master your swinging and jumping skills on the epic obstacles courses where each death is a lesson. The levels are made with various items and enemies, each level rewards your climbing skills and agility. The levels are packed into 11 chapters, each chapter has its own unique peril: hanging cubes, goblins and skulls, sliding and spinning platforms, false floors, cannons, crates. Teamwork is crucial in local co-op mode, where you will have to work together to reach the portals to unlock the next level. 60 challenging levels are waiting for the two of you to explore.

Bought it on a Switch sale. There’s no actual story and you’re just platforming through the levels, but the levels definitely test the platforming skills. They are challenging. Part of the game is figuring out how to get through them.
They’ve done some pretty unique things with this. I think it’s worth picking up – on a sale.
