Inspired by classic arcade games and Greek mythology, specifically the Greek legend of Pandora and her eponymous box/jar, Gematombe is an action puzzle game where players make matches to defeat their opponents and clear the screen of gems to become victorious.
Players will follow Pandora as she embarks on an adventure to capture all the evils that were released before they wreak havoc across the world.
Gematombe is released onto Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 today.
In the vein of classic block breaker arcade games, you launch a ball to hit and break gems of the same colour. Achieving chain combos will clear your screen area of gems and achieve a Gematombe.
There are more than 60 levels to blast your way through, which can be played solo or against a friend in local versus mode, where you select the stage and the contenders to settle a winner in a race for the first Gematombe.
As well as Pandora, the all-gifted heroine, there are other charismatic characters to get to know – Adicia The Injustice, Nosi The Plague, Apate The Deceit, Ania The Sorrow, Khaos The Chaos and one secret character. Playing in story mode will allow you to pick a character and get to know them better in 6 campaigns packed with amusing cut-scenes between battles.
Other modes include endless mode where you fight in an endless stage, to find how long you can stay alive and survivor mode where you fight your way against randomly selected enemies that keep coming for you.
