We’re big fans of Jurassic World Evolution 2, constantly amazed by what the dino-themed park creator can deliver. Today it’s time to head down into the depths, with some new Prehistoric Marine Species content.
Available right now for Jurassic World Evolution 2 players to enjoy is the new Prehistoric Marine Species Pack. And whilst this may not be the biggest, most quantity-rich pack that dino rangers have found coming their way, it should still be considered.
The Jurassic World Evolution 2: Prehistoric Marine Species Pack will set you back £5.99. For that money you’re getting access to four new underwater exhibits, plus some other enhancements that come as a free update.
In fact, that free update is worth a look, complementing the new Prehistoric Marine Species Pack with a new Lagoon Viewing Dome, the ability to create custom Challenge Share Codes, and more. Whether you purchase the new DLC pack or not, you should find that all available.
The new marine species star
But yes, the Prehistoric Marine Species Pack. Included in that are four new beasts that are most at home under the waves.
They come in the form of the Archelon, the largest turtle ever discovered. And the Nothosaurus, a nimble ocean predator that will be best observed basking on the new Lagoon Rock Platform. In addition to that is Dunkleosteus, a powerful armoured fish, and Shonisaurous, a graceful Ichthyosaur which will be found below the water line.
Further details of each are as follows…
- Archelon, whose name means ‘Ruler Turtle’ is the largest turtle ever discovered. This marine reptile sported giant flippers, making it a fast swimmer, with a hooked beak adept at eating fish. Its impressive size and leathery carapace allowed it to float in the shallows of the Late Cretaceous Period.
- Nothosaurus is a nimble predator with a long, flat skull and menacing needle-like teeth. This distinctive predator, inspired by Universal Pictures, Amblin Entertainment and DreamWorks Animation’s hit Netflix show, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, roamed the shores of the Late Triassic, using its tail and webbed feet to propel itself through the water like modern day sealions.
- Dunkleosteus, a powerful armoured fish, stalked the open waters of the Late Devonian period. Sporting a massive, sharpened jaw that could open and close with immense force, this voracious predator was one of the most intimidating fish of its time.
- Shonisaurus had an enormous, rotund frame, making it a graceful giant of the Late Triassic period. Regardless of size, this large Ichthyosaur was a manoeuvrable hunter of the deep oceans. With only a long, skinny snout, the Shonisaurus would rely on its size to fend off would be predators.
