Fires, chaos, explosions: What more could you want during the Christmas season? Well, everyone’s favourite chaos-causing adrenaline junkie Rico Rodriguez is well and truly back… with the biggest of bangs imaginable.
Just Cause 4, out today on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, pits the near-on superhuman against a new threat posed towards the functional South-American area of Solis, and on the hunt for clues regarding his mysterious ancestry. Both human and natural enemies will stand in his way, the latter of which opens up new opportunities for adventure with sandstorms, lighting strikes and even tornados having a huge effect on how the environment interacts with itself, other characters, and the player.
But of course with Just Cause the story isn’t entirely what the masses come flocking for, and whilst Rico’s fight against the evil Black Hand will be a great old bash, the real fun comes in the sheer amount of sandbox destruction that can play out. Anything and everything in the open-world can be destroyed and grappled around, and with new mods to attach onto your grapples, anything is possible. For example, you may choose to equip balloons to your grapples and makeshift a flying tank, raining down hellish fire on cannon-fodder enemies below. Or, of course, you may just want to purely mess about with whatever weather conditions and area you find yourself in. In essence, mad destruction and chaos is really what Just Cause 4 does best.
Traversal has been upped in the newest instalment into the Just Cause series, and mixing Rico’s wingsuit, grapples and the trusty parachute, as well as all-new vehicles, will allow you to manoeuver over the varying levels of terrain found across Solis. And with the promise of Xbox One X enhanced visuals, flying about like the most badass human-bird hybrid on the planet will look just that little bit better!
But how can you purchase Just Cause 4, I hear you ask? Firstly, the Standard Edition of the game is available from tomorrow (4th Dec) at £54.99, whilst the Digital Deluxe Edition and Gold Edition at £64.99 and £79.99 are available right now respectively providing additional weapon and vehicle content, with the latter including the separately purchasable Expansion Pass. Additionally, the game can also be picked up on PS4 and PC.
Further still, you can also grab the Renegade Pack for £2.39, the Golden Gear pack for £3.99, the £2.39 Neon Racer Pack or the extra Digital Deluxe content individually for £9.99. Each do pretty much as they say on the tin.
We’re off to tear up some battlefields – see you out there! And don’t forget to keep an eye out for our review too!
