An off-road test awaits in Overpass 2 on Xbox

Upon the release of the original Overpass on Xbox in early 2020, we realised that developers Neopica had certainly filled a niche in the racing genre. It’s safe to say that pure pace fans will find little fun from the more tactical, slow-paced racing action found within Overpass, and in the sequel Overpass 2.

A Thinking Man’s Game

Whether it is in the comprehensive career mode, up to eight player online players or simply in classic one-off races, Overpass 2 will test your racing skills in both the physical and mental dimension.

Available now for Deluxe Edition players on Xbox, PlayStation and PC in Europe (those in the rest of the world must wait until October 16th to play, and Europeans with the Standard Edition can play on the 28th September), Overpass 2 demands the utmost attention to the road and obstacles in your way.

ATVs, all-rounder UTVs and hardy Rock Bouncers make up the three distinct vehicle classes, with 33 different vehicles to unlock. You’ll take these across 30 different routes in five regions – Baja Desert, East Central US, Johnson Valley, Utah Desert and Western Europe, each offering their unique bumps and humps to test your driving skills. Careful surveying of the track ahead of time is the key to success.

The career mode is where the real action is. This allows you to upgrade your vehicles, acquire sponsors and sort your own racing team. The plan? To progress through the ranks of the racing world.

Key Features

  • 33 vehicles from official brands, across 3 categories: UTVs, ATVs, and Rock Bouncers
  • 5 different game modes: off-road sprints, off-road circuits, hillclimbs, obstacle courses, and closed circuits
  • 31 captivating circuits, strewn with a variety of obstacles
  • Official manufacturers, equipment and sponsors
  • 5 unique environments: Baja Desert, Johnson Valley, Utah Desert, East Central US, Western Europe
  • A full career mode with team and calendar management
  • Advanced customization of vehicles and drivers
  • A local split-screen mode for up to 4 players
  • Online races for up to 8 players

As for the Deluxe Edition, this will also provide early access ahead of street release. It also comes with the following additional content:

  • The Polaris vehicle pack: the Polaris RZR XP 1000 High Lifter (UTV) and the Polaris Scrambler 850 (ATV)
  • The Career Starter Pack, with 4 cards for more qualified teammates (mechanic / researcher / meteorologist / geomorphologist)

Now Available

Overpass 2 is now available on Xbox Series X|S. It’s also on PS5 and PC, provided you are in Europe and own the Deluxe Edition. If not, you’ll need to hold tight for your own specific release.

You can purchase the Deluxe Edition for £49.99 via the Xbox Store, whilst the Standard Edition will cost less at £44.99. We will have our full review of Overpass 2 on Xbox soon.

Overpass 2 is not available on Xbox One or PS4. You’re going to have to go new-gen to play this one.

Overpass 2 on Xbox Game Description

The only simulation that blends racing and obstacles is back with new content and game modes. Put your skills to the test in 5 game modes in which you have to come to grips with demanding challenges: off-road sprint, off-road circuit, hill climb, obstacle course, closed circuit.

Your results will depend on how well you can analyse the course and pick the best routes. At the controls of powerful buggies and quads from major manufacturers such as Yamaha, Arctic Cat and Suzuki, you will travel across 30 routes in 5 regions: Baja Desert, East Central US, Johnson Valley, Utah Desert and Western Europe.

Rise to the challenge of the ultra-comprehensive career mode! Manage your team, sponsors and budget while making the right research and development choices so you can upgrade your vehicles to meet your objectives, all while mapping out your team’s progress using the skill tree.

Rocks, tree trunks, mud and many more natural and artificial obstacles will slow you down during the various races and could damage your vehicle.
