Legends await with Dakar Desert Rally’s Classics Vehicle Pack #1

Can’t get enough of racing across the desert? Dakar Desert Rally is the game for you and today comes the chance to get behind the wheel of some legends, as the Classics Vehicle Pack #1 releases. 

Available right now to purchase, download and add into your base game of Dakar Desert Rally on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam, Epic) is the new Classic Vehicle Pack #1. It’s available as either an individual purchase or through the Season Pass for the game. 

Pay up the £8.39 required (and yeah, that feels a bit steep) and you’ll gain access to a couple of new vehicles – the all-wheel-drive Porsche 959, as well as the six-wheeler in the form of the Tatra 815 truck. Details of each as follows…

• Porsche 959 (1986) Drive the powerful all-wheel-drive Porsche 959 across the desert landscape.
• Tatra 815 (1986) Experience the amazing 6-wheel Tatra 815 like in the original Paris-Dakar.

Further to this paid DLC is a free update for the game, rolling out to you right about now. This is known as Patch 1.9, adding a performance boost to the base game alongside new voice-over support for a number of different languages. 

If you are unaware of what Dakar Desert Rally is, then, as you would probably guess, it’s the video game version of the world’s most challenging off-road race. It allows you the chance to take in more than 20,000 square kilometres of diverse terrain and terrible weather, as you race cars, bikes, trucks, quads and SSVs across the desert. 

Having released on Xbox, PlayStation and PC back in October 2022, we jumped behind the wheel of Dakar Desert Rally on Xbox Series X|S, slapping a 3.5/5 review score on it. Positives came in the form of the great visuals and sound, the official vehicles and the sheer ambition. It was however let down by a dead online world and odd driving feel. Perhaps the addition of the Classics Vehicle Pack #1 and free update will change some of that.
