Xbox will visit Gamescom in 2023 for a new wave of significant announcements.

The most watched Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct ever, according to a recent blog post from Xbox, was held this year. On June 11, a live feed of the Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct as part of the Summer Game Fest 2023 was made available. Here is further information about these changes.

The Xbox Games Showcase for 2023 lasted an hour and was followed by an hour-long Starfield Direct. Within seven days of publication, The Showcase allegedly received over 92 million views on various platforms. According to Xbox CMO Jerret West, this year’s showcase attracted 38% more viewers than it did the year before. The showcase has since become the best-rated program ever on Xbox. 13 new games from Xbox’s First Party Studios were shown at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023, along with 21 more that will be released shortly on the system and Game Pass. Forza Motorsport, Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga, Fable, South of Midnight, Avowed, Clockwork Revolution, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Towerborne, and of course, a thorough examination of Starfield’s development and upcoming games are among the games covered.

Xbox Games Showcase Extended came after the Xbox Games Showcase + Starfield Direct. Along with fresh revelations, it provided a closer look at several of the games that had been previously shown. But as West notes, there will be more, as Xbox and Bethesda will be present at Gamescom 2023, which will take place from August 23 to 27. In addition to setting up their “biggest ever booth” during the event, Xbox plans to release the eagerly awaited game Starfield only a few days later. Fans may anticipate a unique event soon.

The Newest Gaming Subscription From Microsoft Is Called Xbox Game Pass Core

For less than US$10 a month, Game Pass Core has been introduced as a new method to access Microsoft’s Xbox multiplayer network. However, the new Pass is only appropriate for certain titles. It will go into effect later in 2023 and completely replace the Xbox Live Gold account type.

Microsoft has decided to “say goodbye to Games with Gold,” citing the necessity for new methods “to include content with this subscription” in its previous services. They reportedly feature the “member deals & discounts” that will be accessible to anyone who signs up for the impending successor of Xbox Live Gold.

The new method for gamers to connect online via their consoles (such as the One, Series X, and Series S) is also the most cost-effective solution. However, only a small selection of titles, including Doom Eternal, Fallout 4/76, Gears 5, and Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, will be available through the Game Pass Core, which was “curated” by the Redmond behemoth.

Around 25 games now make up the list of largely important but older titles, but once the new Game Pass is available, that number is expected to increase over time. The conversion of existing Live Gold subscribers’ subscriptions to Core access, which costs US$9.99 per month or US$59 annually, is slated to occur on September 14, 2023.
