New free Xbox titles arrive through Games With Gold

We’ve had the chance to enjoy the board game antics of Armello for free, and have had to pay absolutely nothing for the opportunity to become the Batman, albeit in LEGO form. Now though the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for May 2021 is switching things up by delivering two additional titles to Xbox gamers free of charge. 

Those games are Tropico 4 and Dungeons 3; two games that between them will keep you busy for a good long while, all as you attempt to prove yourself as a prime leader, and head down into the depths for a bit of lootin’. 

The switch comes about as we reach the halfway point of May 2021, with the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for the month once again providing access to four free titles for all Xbox gamers. And whilst two of the freebies for the month are native to Xbox 360, all are playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. 

So what do we have? Well, until the end of March it’s all about gaining free access to the world of Tropico 4. A usual £9.19 price tag has been removed until that time, as you – and El Presidente – look to take in a whole new set of challenges. There’s much to love about Tropico 4 too, as you look to gain support from the people of your land, with every decision you make an important one. If you’re up for a strategy sim, this is sure to cover what is required. 

Sitting alongside that is Dungeons 3. This native Xbox One title first released in 2017, yet now it’s being stripped of the usual £26.99 asking price until the middle of June. In order to gain access to these dungeons, you’ll just need to flash your valid Xbox Live Gold membership at the Xbox Store door, and then take home the download. 

If you haven’t previously played Dungeons 3 then this is the dungeon master you have been waiting for. An RTS at heart, the solo player campaign will offer up a host of missions and more than 20 hours of playtime. But then there’s also a cooperative mode available too. For free, you really shouldn’t be turning your nose up at what is on offer. 

The Xbox Games With Gold scheme may have take a back seat to the brilliance of the Xbox Game Pass in recent years, but with Armello still free until the end of the month, and the chance to fill your Xbox digital library with freebies, it’s still most definitely a relevant part of any Xbox gamer’s life.
