Today, Targem Games and Gaijin Entertainment have released a new Clan Wars game mode for post-apocalyptic MMO Crossout that enables players to bring the largest craftable vehicles into battle – the Leviathans!
Before now, Leviathans were only present as boss level enemies during PvE and despite being player-designed, they were controlled by AI. More than 100,000 of them have already been constructed and the new ‘Leviathans’ Clan Wars mode sees two player-controlled Leviathans clash in 4v4 battles. Each captain is able to bring a custom Leviathan in, whilst their team members are in their regular vehicles. This new mode will be ranked, with the top 30 clans each week being rewarded rather generously with Uranium – a special resource that can be used to craft rare weapons or be sold for a large profit on the market
These Leviathans are constructed from the ground up using individual parts, featuring different weapons, armour and support systems. Naturally, the main difference is their sheer size which allows them to carry a whole lot more compared to the standard vehicles. Strategy comes in to play by the captains needing to ensure the Leviathan build suits the tactics of the team; whether that’s by focusing on a strong defence, offense or taking a more balanced approach.
