A Stray cat in a bucket comes to Xbox

It’s been a tough year for cat lovers on Xbox. Ever since Stray came to grace PlayStation and PC back in July of 2022, we have been chomping at the bit for this lovable platformer to make its way to Xbox. Well, BlueTwelve Studio and Annapurna Interactive have today released Stray on Xbox. Hooray!

A Forgotten City

Stray on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One is available right now. And as well as the iconic ginger tabby we control, one of the key draws of this third-person adventure is the city it takes place in. This mysterious urban environment is populated by a number of robots, each with their own roles in this ecosystem. With no humans in sight, discovering the mystery of this city is one of the main goals in Stray, as it may help our feline friend make it out.

Across this short game – a full playthrough will take around 5-10 hours – you’ll experience the cluttered urban environment as a cat. And that’ll be complete with all the agility and pace that your evolutionary history provides.

It’s a unique way to navigate the world, and such abilities must be used to solve puzzles, sneak past threats and, of course, do everything you can to annoy the robotic citizens. You are a cat, after all!

All-New Cat Toys!

To celebrate the release of Stray onto Xbox, the game has teamed up with Travel Cat. These guys specialise in innovative cat products.

You should now be able to pre-order a limited-edition cat toy set. It’s that which is found featuring the lovable B-12 droid that accompanies you through the game. Oh, and there’s the little Zurk creatures who you must overcome in Stray too.

Now Available!

Stray is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC. To grab yourself a copy on Xbox, you can find it on the Xbox Store for £24.99.

Our review is incoming.

Game Description

Lost, alone and separated from family, a stray cat must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten city.

Stray is a third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed, neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. Roam surroundings high and low, defend against unforeseen threats and solve the mysteries of this unwelcoming place inhabited by curious droids and dangerous creatures.

See the world through the eyes of a cat and interact with the environment in playful ways. Be stealthy, nimble, silly, and sometimes as annoying as possible with the strange inhabitants of this mysterious world.

Along the way, the cat befriends a small flying drone, known only as B-12. With the help of this newfound companion, the duo must find a way out.

Stray is developed by BlueTwelve Studio, a small team from the south of France mostly made up of cats and a handful of humans.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
