We wouldn’t have said that word-searches were difficult, particularly, but someone over at POWGI obviously feels like they need a bit of dumbing down. Instead of finding multiple words within a word-search, in One Word by POWGI, you’re looking for only one, and it is out now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
There’s more to it than that, obviously. What you get is a word-search where the word you’re looking for is mysterious. To give you a hint, it’s a word from a quote, so you can work it out from context or your encyclopedic knowledge of historic quotes. I’m sure you’re all well versed in the sayings of Sir Francis Bacon.
The word-search itself will give you clues. The only letters in the grid are the ones in the word, so it’s more about finding the correct order of letters within the alphabet soup. It makes us a little cross-eyed just looking at it, if we’re honest.
The quote develops as you do one word-search after another, before a gleeful dog pops up and celebrates your wondrous achievement: you’ve completed the quote. Achievements pop and you move on to the next one.
If you’ve played the recently released Word Sudoku by POWGI, you will probably already know if this is your brand of HB pencil, so give this budget puzzler a go if you’re that way inclined. If you choose to buy it on the Xbox One and Series X|S, you get the benefit of an extra 30 puzzles, taking it up to 150 in total.
One Word by POWGI is out now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X and starts at £6.69 from the Xbox Store. It’s also out on PS4, PS5 and Vita.
