It's been three years since Gleaner Heights first mixed the joys of farming with a secret darkness that would lay just below the surface. We won't lie - Silt looks gorgeous. Delivering a wickedly surreal underwater adventure, it's that beauty which today floats out onto Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.
Silt is a stunner. It's not quite able to deliver the same type of immersion that was honed by the Playdead team and their adventure telling, but it really isn't too far off. This is an underwater playground that is full of mystery and aside from a few little technical issues, is one that fans of visual-led stories should lap up.
Find something by Lightwood Games that has '... by POWGI' attached and you should know what you're in for - words, words, words. And some pretty cool, fairly awful, dad jokes. We're not expecting anything different in Word Wheel by POWGI. If it is, we're going to be disappointed.
Word Wheel by POWGI is still just a fancy way of working through some wordplay, and that will either appeal or not, but for us this Word Wheel rolls along very nicely indeed.
You may want to switch Injection π23 ‘Ars regia’ off, the lack of direction is a tad annoying and the nostalgic world on offer may feel a bit of a turn-off. But carry on playing through and you’ll realise that the hooks grab you, taking you into a game that is engaging and intriguing throughout.
If you are after something action-based then I don't think this is the game for you, yet those looking for an original story-based, fully realised, world with loads of vampires should get playing Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong.
Remember when we all met up in the year 2000? It was then when Kao the Kangaroo popped up, bouncing his way to video gaming history. Now though it's time for Kao to get a reboot, as he starts to land some punches on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.
