Procedurally generated card collector Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four claims a home on Xbox and Switch

After first launching on PC back in February 2021, Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four now brings its procedurally generated card collecting options to Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four drops in via the Headup Games and Elder Games teams to provide players with the opportunity to find themselves taking control of a dark wizard – a guy who has messed up slightly by unleashing The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse onto the world.

As you can imagine, this isn’t good for anyone, and so by utilising your magical card deck, you’ll get to send them back to their hellish dimension – hopefully before they wreck the world.

Priced at £12.49 from the Xbox Store – and kicking around a little cheaper on Nintendo Switch – Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four will have you working the procedurally generated angle, mixing it with action RPG elements as you go about collecting creatures and cards, before dropping the power that they bring. With more than 200 cards in total, multiple factions and plenty of opportunity, if you’re a card-battling fan, Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four should well be for you.

But there’s more, and Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four also lets you visit the pub – an interdimensional one which will provide the challenges, cards and spells that you need in your life. Throw in a ton of bosses and a rather unique visual take and this is one you shouldn’t be missing.

At least, we don’t think you should be missing it – only our upcoming review of Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four on Xbox Series X|S will be able to provide the solid truth and details. Keep an eye out for that soon.

Game features include:

  • Encounter 5 factions and over 200 cards, each with its own unique abilities, art and 3D animation
  • Equip your hero with over 40 artifacts
  • Battle five mythic bosses, each with its own unique take on game mechanics
  • Explore endlessly generated worlds in different biomes
  • Complete challenges and trade cards in the Interdimensional Pub you visit between quests

For now, get over to the Xbox Store, the Nintendo eShop or that Steam page and prepare yourself for some procedurally generated card battling with Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
