Roam beyond the castle as Hammerwatch II releases on Xbox and PlayStation

Hammerwatch II
Hammerwatch II is now on Xbox and PlayStation

It’s been a good few years since we last took to Hammerwatch. But in that time the Crackshell and Maximum Entertainment teams have been cooking up a treat. Hammerwatch II now releases on Xbox and PlayStation.

Return to Hammerwatch

Previously on PC through Steam, Hammerwatch II now releases on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation. And yep, there’s no Xbox One play here – current-gen fun only.

Priced at £19.74, Hammerwatch II should well take the dungeon adventuring found in the original Hammerwatch to the next level. It’s here where a world well beyond the dungeons of the castle await, as you and your gang take on all-new quests, missions and objectives. With classic ARPG vibes, a pixelated world and hordes of the undead to battle through, we’re not sure why anyone would turn down the opportunity…

Build in plenty of customisation, an adventure into the unknown, an open world and online co-op if you are looking for it, and Hammerwatch II on Xbox and PlayStation continues to appeal.

Key features

  • Explore a Vast and Dynamic Open World: Journey through Hammer Island, the Fallowfields, and the dark mountainous regions of Blackbarrow. Experience a world complete with day/night and weather systems that will help shape your adventure.
  • Aid Townsfolk Along the Way: With an epic amount of quests, there is ample opportunity to be the hero Herian deserves.
  • Build Your Herian Hero: Choose between five distinct character classes: Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Wizard, and Warlock. Customize your appearance and level up to unlock powerful new abilities and skills.
  • Collect and Craft: Stock up on items found and earned along the way and craft them into useful tools, magic potions, and delicious food.
  • Share the Adventure: Play alone, or in online co-op mode with up to 3 other players.

You’ll find Hammerwatch II on the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox Series X|S. There’s the Standard Edition for £19.74. And there’s the Hammerwatch II: The Chronicles Edition for £32.24. For that extra cash you’re getting access to the Hammerwatch Anniversary Edition plus an Anniversary Pack too. Each are purchasable individually if you so prefer.

PlayStation folk? Your usual digital store should sort you out too.

Stick around for a review. Or maybe consider playing Heroes of Hammerwatch too.

Hammerwatch II Description

Gather your heroes and journey beyond the dungeons of Castle Hammerwatch to explore a pixelated world like never before.

Blight the Horrible and his dragon army have succeeded in the sinister plot to overthrow King Roland and bring destruction across the Kingdom of Herian.

Not all is lost as hope hides deep within the sewer system, where the King’s resistance movement holds strong. On the King’s order, a select few of mighty and skilled heroes have been entrusted with defeating Blight’s dragons and restoring the Kingdom.

Adventure alone or gather your party to aid King Roland’s resistance, all while helping villagers along the way. Battle beasts, finish off hordes of the undead, and face the forces of evil in this epic ode to classic ARPG.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
