Always wanted to be a hero? Reckon you’ve got what it takes to work your way through a set of simple movements, running, jumping, dashing and attacking? How about if you infuse those into the need to survive the most impossible levels? That’s Flat Heroes in a nutshell.

Available to purchase, download, play and – hopefully – enjoy on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Flat Heroes is the latest test of your gaming skills.

Priced up at £8.99, Flat Heroes will task you with getting to grips with the easy to learn, hard to master gameplay as you go about tackling a host of ever-increasingly tricky levels, utilising the controls at hand, as best as you can.

You’ll be left to traverse these stages, stylishly moving your way through more than 300 levels, each of which has been handcrafted to perfection. Do so and you’ll stumble upon some epic bosses, proving once and for all that you and your gaming skills have what it takes to allow you the chance to join the Flat Heroes.

With a delightfully minimalist artstyle that is complemented by some stunning effects, this is certainly one that looks the business. We hope it plays as well as it looks too – stay tuned for a full review of Flat Heroes from us in the coming days and weeks.

And if you’re not totally sold on this one as a single player adventure, Flat Heroes caters for local-couch based mates too.

You’ll find the challenge of Flat Heroes available from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Game Description:

When was the last time you felt like a hero? Flat Heroes rewards you with that good old feeling of surviving impossible levels alongside a smooth modern design with a minimalist style. With a simple set of movements — Run. Jump. Dash. Attack. — and delightful controls, Flat Heroes encourages you to stylishly navigate and survive over 300 handcrafted levels, destroy the most epic bosses around and truly be the two-dimensional hero (or heroes!) you’ve always dreamed you could be. Easy to learn and hard to master; it is easy to pick up and even easier to learn, but don’t let that fool you! During your adventure you will face increasingly difficult challenges that will require you to master the game’s controls on the journey to becoming a true Hero. And while Flat Heroes comes along with a very minimalistic art style, it’s spiced up with stunning effects making it one truly unique eye candy experience. Got stuck in the campaign or want to survive longer in the challenge modes? Too intense for you to take on alone? Let your friends join the party; Flat Heroes is the perfect couch co-op experience! Invite a few friends, get some pizza and overcome the challenges together!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
