Save the kingdom and prove yourself as the One True Hero

one true hero

We’ve been gearing up for this time for years, honing our skills in a variety of forms and games. Now though it’s time to prove that we have what it takes to become the One True Hero.

A rather quirky little fantasy adventure that comes from the minds of Rat Cliff Games, in One True Hero you’ll find yourself landing in the shoes of a young hero who is just about capable of handling themselves. The thing is, now they need to save a kingdom.

Priced at £11.99, One True Hero comes to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch thanks to the No Gravity Games team as a fantasy story begins to play out on console. Also available on Steam, this is one that looks to be a bit of a delight as you go about exploring the world around you, unravelling secrets and fulfilling tasks. But being a hero is not easy, especially when you’ve never been a hero before and so going from a humble farmer up to a world saver will be a tough task.

With a magic sword in hand, this epic adventure looks to bring a ton of platforming, a tale to remember and a whole host of the best sword fights, all as you hope to find legend. It looks great too, with a seriously neat artstyle pushing it along.

Key game features include:

  • AN EPIC ADVENTURE – Is it really a tale we’ve heard thousands of times before?
  • NERVE-RACKING SWORD FIGHTS – You will meet a lot of evil creatures standing in your path – dealing with them is the only way to save the kingdom!
  • LOADS OF PLATFORMING! – Jumping, climbing and running will be your bread and butter! Who knew that there’s such sacrifice involved in being a legendary hero?
  • A TALE TO REMEMBER – Memorable characters, great humour, lots of surprising dungeons and puzzles are only a part of this memorable tale.

One True Hero is available from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, priced at £11.99. It’s on PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch too.

Game Description:

One day, a young farmer. The other day, a hero… But is he really able to save the town if he’s barely able to save himself? As a local Hero, you will need to explore ancient ruins, defeat an army of evil minions and unravel the mystery of the sinking town, but in fact, it’s not the hardest task to fullfill. You will also need to prove the others that you are capable of being taken seriously and that may be the hardest thing to do.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
