Available right now for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players to enjoy is The Fast Journey. A creation of Rafael Valim Fernandes and the My Night Sun Games team, this is a short, sharp, quick journey through a platforming utopia. That’s the hope anyways.Â
A new old school platformer
Priced at a mere £4.59, discounted at launch to £3.90, The Fast Journey has you playing as a little frog protagonist, Rafa. It’s Rafa’s leaping legs that you get to controls as you head out onto a rescue mission, looking to save your one true love from the most evil of creatures.
Saving Polly may be your main goal, but it’s not one that is going to be easy to complete. You see, in The Fast Journey Rafa’s adventuring skills will be tested multiple times; traps, obstacles, enemies and more will get in his way. We’re not expecting too much more than standard platforming fare, and if you’ve played any adventure of this type from the last, say, three decades or more, then you should be at home here.
With a pixel arted visual take, catchy little soundtrack and a bit of a narrative kicking around, The Fast Journey should scratch a platforming itch. At least for an evening or two.Â
