A new Series of Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges is always something to look forward to in Forza Horizon 5, and Series 27 is no different. This time around we are focusing on all things American. American Automotive, that is, hopefully we won’t be inundated by orange politicians with stupid hair!

In an interesting accident of timing, this Series launches exactly two years after the base game was unleashed, so I’ll hopefully be the first to wish Forza Horizon 5 a happy birthday! With more American cars than you can shake a stick at being shoehorned into the next four weeks, and the release of a new paid DLC pack of american cars to also be included for your consideration, it doesn’t appear we will be short of things to try and aim at, does it?

Let’s get straight into the action, pardners. Yeehaw?

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Mustang Madness

The weekly challenge car this week focuses on a Mustang, and in a break from tradition, you can choose whichever one you fancy. Either the classic 1965 model, or the more up to date 2018 Mustang GT can be your steed of choice.

Should you not have one in your garage, the Autoshow can hook you up, for 46,000 and 40,000 credits respectively.

Chapter 1 – Wild Performance

Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete!

Chapter 2 – Flying Muscle

We now need to earn 6 stars at Danger Signs in our car of choice. Pick a nice one and fly like a bird!

Chapter 3 – Waking the Neighbours

Can we win a street race in our car? I should think so, right? Good, cos that’s what this next step requires!

I did tune my 1965 model up a touch to C Class, and the share code is : 823624989.

Chapter 4 -Eye  Candy

Take a photo of your car. Pretty simple, right?

Still do that and this week’s challenge will be done, pushing us five points closer to the reward cars that are in place during Series 27.

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

Well, with that bit of fun over with (I secretly do like a Mustang, don’t tell anyone) we are into the main body of the week now, with many races and stunts to try and win at. Are y’all ready?

The Trial – Cars and Stripes

Well, it appears the pun writer is back off holiday and straight into the swing of things!

For this series of races, we need to use either a Mustang or a Camaro, tuned to the tippy top of S1 Class 900. I brought out an old favourite, the Shelby GT500 from 2020, and the share code for mine is : 335181307.

Should we manage to win two out of three races, a lovely Chevy Camaro from 2015 is ours.

Eventlab 1 – GTDENY Presents – Crop Circle stadium Rally

We need to get tuning to S1 Class 900 for this race, and the car needs to be a Hoonigan. I went with the Classic Escort RS1800, and my share code is : 264985022. This is one of my favourite cars in the whole game, I can’t lie!

A pretty fun layout this one, If I had one complaint it would be that the vegetation growing on the track makes it hard to see where to go if you are racing in the front bumper view that I like.

The prize for completing this race is a 1977 Ford Escort.

Eventlab 2 – Viexity Presents The Wild, Wild West //Street//

For this Eventlab, we need to use a Modern Supercar, from America, tuned to S1 Class 900. I used a Lexus LFA and the stock tune is more than quick enough.

I’m afraid it’s a no from me on this one, there are too many obstacles sticking out into the road that bring you to a complete stop for my taste, and there doesn’t seem to be any flow to the track.

But there’s a prize on offer for completion – a Super Wheelspin, for a change!

PR Stunt 1 –  Speed Trap – Coast View

This week the tuning limit for these events is S1 Class 900, and all the cars have to be American.

The speed target for this challenge is 180mph, and as the course is on road, I went with a Shelby Mustang from 2020, with share code : 335181307.

This is really tricky, as there are bends in both directions, but the run up from the south seems easier.

We get a Super Wheelspin in return though. It’ll do. Like we need wheelspins…

PR Stunt 2 – Speed  Zone – Costa Rocosa

The target this time is to average 88mph through the zone, which doesn’t sound like a lot.

However, the course is off road, so I went with the same Hoonigan Escort from above, and the share code again is : 264985022.

Another Super Wheelspin awaits.

PR Stunt 3 – Drift Zone – Punto Norte

Here we need to score over 75,000 drift points, on an off road course. This may be tricky.

I went with the Formula Drift Toyota Supra MK IV, as it is American apparently. Any of the Drift Mustangs will see you right if that is your preference.

Your best bet is to hit the line sliding and you’ll stand a chance. Plenty of handbrake!

Yet another Super Wheelspin to add to the pile.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Oregon in 60 Seconds.

Good lord, the puns get worse, who would have thought it?

Odd category of car this week, with the tuning limit being C Class 600, and the category – Iconic Film Cars (USA). Not a searchable category either…

There is not a lot of choice here, but I went with a Camaro Super Sport Coupe from 1969, and the share code is : 111544579.

For winning outright solo, or best two out of three in a convoy, we can take home a Dodge Charger from 2015.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Dodge This!

Can you guess what brand of car we need for this championship? Well, actually it is Chevrolet vs Dodge this week, tuned to S1 Class 900,  and so I chose a classic Dodge Viper from 2008 and the share code is : 111641508.

Should we win out, a Hummer H1 Is our prize.

Part 3: Other Challenges

There’s always more to get involved in than just the racing, and that is the case again this week.

There’s the Photo Challenge, and a Collectible challenge to get stuck into. There’s also the Eliminator present and correct once more.

Photo Challenge – #MEANSTREETS

Something a little bit different this week, as we need to photograph a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE in a street race. As such, there’s not a fixed location, so I’ll just have to showcase my best driving! My effort is up top.

The reward? A new piece of clothing, a Spaik short sleeved shirt. Not even a dinosaur print…

Collectible challenge – Field Goal

All around the Estadio Horizon, someone has left some American Football pinatas around the place, and we have to smash 6 of them. I’ll show you a picture of what you are looking for below.

For smashing sufficiently, we can have a new car horn, “Goalll” complete with three L’s. Awesome.

The Eliminator – Battle Royale

It is Eliminator time, and luckily you don’t have to win the whole thing, just survive into the top 30. Should be easy enough, right?

Well, if anyone does have any tips about how to win the whole thing, please share them and I’ll be eternally grateful, as it is the only achievement I have yet to unlock in the base game. Pretty please?

For doing this, we can take home a new emote, Karaoke..

Horizon Arcade – Mini Games

As a bonus this week, we need to complete all three rounds of a Horizon Arcade Event.

There are five types to choose from, speed, chaos, wreckage, air and drift, which is the best of all.

Choose any car for the event you choose, but the Formula Drift MK IV Supra is awesome for drift events.

A massive 3 points towards the weekly car prizes! Makes it all worthwhile

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Canyon Fire

This week, we are limited to the same restrictions as previously, an S1 class 900 American car.J umping any distance, such as the 350m for this challenge usually requires speed, so I went with the Viper from 2008 above  and share code : 111641508.

Approach from around the bend at the bottom of the map and pin the throttle!

A Super Wheelspin is your reward. I’ve actually given up spinning them now…

Seasonal Championship – Chevy Metal

Believe it or not, we need a Chevrolet, tuned to S1 Class 900,  and so it had to be a Corvette, didn’t it? I went with the Z06 from 2015 and the share code is :527686203.

Completing the championship will get us a Chevy Camaro ‘15.

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to…

Seasonal PR Stunt – Drift Zone – Joya Marron

Same car limit, but a bit of light sliding to do. We need to score over 110,000 drift points on this course, and so I went with a Formula Drift Toyota Supra ‘95, as it is classed as an American car, in stock trim, as sliding is what it does!

This is tricky as the surface is dirt, so go steady and it should be fine.

The prize is another Super Wheelspin. Sigh.

Seasonal Championship – What’s it Cosworth

Good grief, just when you think the pun writer had gone home…

Still, we need a Rally Monster class car, tuned to A Class 800, and of the choice available, I used a Hoonigan Cossie V2, with share code : 140648350.

For winning out, we can take away a Ford Escort from 92.

With Series 27 just beginning, we get a new series of cars to aim at. This time around they are a bit disappointing, with a Cadillac CT-4 for 80 points, and for 160 pts it is a Ford F-150 from ‘86 a hard to find set of wheels.

If you need a few extra points to get you over the line, the monthly Rivals challenges are here; Bahia de Plano Circuit for proper cars, and Linea Costera Sprint for EVs. Stick some clean laps in and Bob should be the brother of your mother.

4 points are on offer if you return clean laps for each one, so worth having a go at!

Grab enough points and Series 27 Summer will also see you gifted with the exclusive Corvette Z06 from 2023 for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a Belvedere ‘64, another exclusive car. Nice to get the double!

Stick around if you need guides to the next installments in Series 27. We’ll be covering Autumn, Winter and Spring each the weeks progress.

To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.

Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
