2026's Best Games

It’s been a while since we saw The Sims on console, but that wait will soon be over as EA confirm The Sims 4 for console.

Arriving on Xbox One and PS4 come 17th November 2017, The Sims 4 will bring everything great about the PC version, to console. You’ll be giving the chance to create unique Sims and build amazing homes as you go about developing your Sim’s relationships and pursuing careers. If you ever wanted to create and control people in a vibrant virtual world, or looked on enviously to the PC brigade, your chance is now here.

As with the PC version, the Xbox One and PS4 editions of The Sims 4 will throw you into a world with no rules, letting you customise near on anything and everything, bringing the same unique gameplay as that found on PC, with many of the additional extras thrown in for good measure.

If you feel that The Sims life is for you and can’t wait to drop the cash, then make sure you get in on the pre-orders. Doing so will let you receive The Sims 4 Perfect Patio Stuff pack, featuring hot tubs and tons of bonus décor for your outdoor oasis. If you want to go all-out The Sims party, then the Deluxe Party Edition will bring you the full game three-days early on November 14th. The Deluxe Party Edition includes special content like a Flaming Tiki Bar, outrageous costumes, silly animal hats and more, plus The Sims 4 Perfect Patio Stuff featuring hot tubs.

EA Access members meanwhile will have the opportunity to drop on in five days early, via the Play First Trial we all know and love.

“The addition of a console-version of The Sims 4 has been long-awaited by fans and newcomers alike, and we at Maxis are beyond excited to bring The Sims to new platforms,” said Executive Producer, Lyndsay Pearson. “The game delivers a beautiful The Sims experience on console and comes packed with tons of the fan-favourite content, so players can look forward to the unique gameplay, self-expression, and fun that have come to be tentpoles of The Sims brand. The possibilities to play with life are as endless as the players’ creativity.”

We’ll be sure to remind you when 17th November arrives!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
