Is there anyone out there who doesn’t like a bit of Bomberman? Well chances are that when Super Bomberman R arrives, you’re going to love it even more.

And much of that must be down to the rather brilliant looking platform-exclusive characters which will be available come launch of Super Bomberman R on Xbox One, PS4 and PC come June 14th 2018.

To celebrate Bomberman’s arrival on various platforms, Konami have revealed a few special characters who will be unique to each system. They are:

  • Exclusive to Xbox One – Master Chief Bomber
  • Exclusive to PS4 – Ratchet & Clank Bomber
  • Exclusive to Steam – P-body Bomber

Now, whilst the Chief looks great, it has to be said that as an Xbox guy, I’m going to forever more be casting a jealous eye over to the land of Steam and that brilliant P-body Bomber. But hey, I guess we’ll have to be grateful for what we have!

Further to these special characters and the June release, Konami have also revealed that those who pre-order Super Bomberman R digitally, or purchase the Shiny Edition at retail, will receive the following new characters for a limited time:

  • 8 Shiny Bomberman Brothers Set
  • Golden Vic Viper Bomber

So what should we expect with Super Bomberman R? Well, a Story mode will be in place for 1-2 players to help save the galaxy, taking control of a variety of Bomberman characters in order to navigate the mazes and take out opponents with their timed bombs.

But that fun will just multiply when up to 8 players get involved in the Battle mode or competitive Grand Prix mode – with the latter being a team-versus-team mode that pits two teams of up to three players as they battle it out within different arena stages using characters with special abilities.

If you’re looking to relive the glory days of bombing mates, then Super Bomberman R will surely scratch that rather large itch when it releases on PC via Steam on June 13th and Xbox One/PS4 on June 14th.
