The 7 games leaving Game Pass TODAY!

There are multiple games leaving Game Pass

Did you blink and miss it? We’re at the end of September and October is about to kick into play. And you know what that means? Game Pass subscribers need to say cheerio to a number of games from the service. Today that means waving bye to no less than 7 games. We’re really going to miss some of them too.

As Game Pass continues to evolve and switch things up, space needs to be made for upcoming new games. And that means shifting out some of the older games that we’ve had a good few months of playtime with.

Seven are on their way out today, yet whilst you may not be able to play them through Game Pass any more, you could of course open the wallet and splash out some real cash. We’d suspect you may wish to if you’re slapbang in the middle of some playthroughs.

So what’s leaving?

Well, we’ve got some cracking indie titles moving out, others that are near must-plays. There’s even a biggy from Square Enix that has proven to be a bit of a marmite affair.

The full list of those leaving Game Pass on Xbox and PC today are below. Which will you miss the most?

Beacon Pines

Beacon Pines has been in Game Pass for a year already, dropping in as a Day One must-player back in September 2022.

And when we say ‘must-player’, we don’t have mean it. You see, we dropped the big 5/5 on Beacon Pines in full review, telling how it would be a game that many would become hooked with.

If ever did a game warrant a full purchase, it’s Beacon Pines.

You will adore Beacon Pines from start to finish, mostly as you get hooked by the impressive and unusual narrative. Ultimately it’s a game about the power of story and the decisions you make when choosing different narrative paths, but it’s helped along by the warmth of the characters, ensuring you’ll want to invest time and emotion into the hunt for the perfect ending.

Despot’s Game

Another that we rated extremely highly – 4.5/5 in review – is Despot’s Game: Dystopian Army Builder.

Having only been in the service for the last six months or so, this is one that we are shocked to see leaving, especially as it feels a near perfect game for such a subscription service.

But leaving it is and so if you haven’t yet played Despot’s Army, let our review conclusion highlight what you’ve been missing…

Despot’s Game: Dystopian Army Builder is a pleasant surprise. It has a real one more go appeal, a hook that will drag you back in over and over again. The sheer amount of team building options is remarkable. Every run is different as well, so the replayability is nailed on. The reasons to not give Despot’s Game: Dystopian Army Builder a go are very small indeed.

Last Call BBS

Last Call BBS is a PC only affair, and so we’ve not reviewed it here. But we do know a teeny tiny little bit about it. Who are we kidding – we know nothing about from what the Xbox Store page is spouting off.

Having released back in 2022, Last Call BBS is a hugely retro affair, one that merges in many elements of gaming goodness from years gone by.

Is it worth crying over now that it’s leaving PC Game Pass? Who knows? If you do, comments, below. We’d love to know more. Perhaps this is one that deserves an Xbox runout?

Moonscars (Cloud, Console, and PC)

Ah, Moonscars – how we’ve absolutely adored your grim world and boss battles.

That may not sound like a glowing recoommendation, but we’ve actually had more fun than we imagined with Moonscars. A game that most definitely requires some patience, if you can stick this one out, it’s a game that will highly reward.

Moonscars may look grim, but there’s little horror in allowing your morbid curiosity to get the better of you here.

Prodeus (Cloud, Console, and PC)

What’s that? Another 4.5/5 review score? That’s right – Prodeus tempted us in with its DOOM style-shooting, coming together with some fast and fluid gameplay. In fact, it was so good we could hardly find a thing to complain about, nitpicking in terms of the challenge.

Everything in Prodeus comes together to ensure that if you’re looking for a DOOM-styled shooter, this is one to take in. It looks great, comes with fast and fluid gameplay and allows you the chance to make the most of a whole host of guns. What more could you want?

Weird West (Cloud, Console, and PC)

It’s been some 18 months or so since we first had the opportunity to navigate the Weird West. Again, it’s a game we were very taken with, hyping up the story and gameplay. Perhaps the grind was a bit too real for our overall liking, but again this is a game that we spent many an hour with.

The story and gameplay are both highlights, and all in all it is an enjoyable experience. The work that has gone into the Weird West world and the characters that frequent it is impressive. Yes the grind is real, but it is a rewarding experience when it all comes together.

Outriders (Cloud, Console, and PC)

And there it is – the marmite game. Whilst we look forward to seeing where Square go with Outriders as a franchise, there’s no doubt that it was a big old hit with many.

In fact, our review was one that spoke extremely highly of Outriders when it released to the masses back in 2021. Can you believe it was that long ago? We still fondly remember the 4/5 score we happily slapped on it.

Outriders on Xbox is a great game, almost despite itself. The decision to include cooperative opportunities instead of working with a nailed on PvP mode is a great choice. The story is engaging, gameplay works very well and the Expeditions are just about challenging enough. In fact, People Can Fly have ensured that shooting, looting and running away from powerful monsters has never been so much fun.

What’s coming to Game Pass?

With October rolling around, expect a host of new Game Pass games to feed in. We know that The Lamplighters League is coming on the 3rd October as is the newly rebooted Forza Motorsport. Jusant is another that you would do well to check out when it arrives in the service.

As always though, let us know which games you’ll be missing – and which you’ll be looking forward to – via your Game Pass service.
