The biographical adventure of Welcome to Elk announced for Xbox One and PC

Previously confirmed for a PC release, the biographical adventure of Welcome to Elk has now also been confirmed for launch on Xbox One.

Hyped during the recent Guerrilla Collective event stream, Welcome to Elk will now also be releasing on Xbox One, along with the PC edition – the Steam page is here should you wish to wishlist it – later this year, as the development team at Triple Topping go all out to provide a wonderful new tale that has been based on real world stories.

Welcome to Elk is a fictional island that has been stitched together through the power of true stories and tall tales. A biographical adventure peppered with minigames, Elk promises to be everything; joyful, dark and hilarious, as you take in a journey like no other, immersing yourself in travel stories about people whom the world has either ignored or forgotten.

Elk has been created on the back of stories from people who have experienced them or who have heard first-hand accounts. Like those from Lauge who lived in Greenland and rural California – and just so happens to be the brother of Elk’s director, Astrid – who almost smuggled diamonds in India and made friends with Anders who died three times. At least.

In Welcome to Elk on Xbox One and PC you will play as Frigg, a young carpenter trading their busy life in the city for an apprenticeship in a small town. When she arrives in Elk, Frigg worries that the slower pace of life will be boring, but quickly discovers nothing could be further from the truth.

Features of Welcome to Elk on Xbox One and PC include:

  • A narrative game based on real stories told by real people.
  • Mini-games that enhance and are deeply connected to the story.
  • An endearing cast of characters whom the world has either ignored or forgotten
  • Humorous and beautiful hand-drawn art style.

So what do you think? Will you be welcomed to Elk when the game arrives on Xbox One and PC later this year? Are the team at Triple Topping on to something wonderful? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below – especially should you have taken in the trailer below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
